Ideal location for a relaxing stay in Anuradhapura
Reviewed By JayGoSeeStayed with parents. The care taker is called Mangala. We stayed for 2 nights and had booked entire house - which is 3 double rooms. Food was excellent - we had vegeterian food and excellent Sri Lankan Authentic cooking. As many comments Mangala is a genueily good care taker. The lake was swimmable - there is a nice place to swim - safe - just 100m walk. The metal door was locked and cannot get in to the lake from the garden. A lot of birds visit the garden. This visit was during power cuts - daily 2 hour cut. But cool place and was not difficult to pass the time without being uncomfortable. If you want to have a simple vacation, be with the nature ideal location. Kudos to the owener for not spoiling the natural trees and for not over commercialzing the spot. You can just rela wacthing birds - many rare birds did visit (also some monkeys and peacocks). Note: there is no generator.

Amazing experience
Reviewed By NienStWhen we arrived in Anuradhapura I didn’t know where to stay so we googled and found this little pearl! Paul, Maya and Ruwen were very welcoming, they made us feel at home! Paul took us to the sunset and explained a lot about Sri Lanka. He has a lot of knowledge about the country. He can give you great tips about less touristic excursions as well! To be honest I was only going to stay for two nights and ended up staying 3 because I really loved it there! They made me experience Anuradhapura in a way I would have never been able to myself! I highly recommend this hostel!

Lage sehr schön, technisch manche Probleme, Essen o.k.

Technisch gab es immer wieder Probleme, Strom fiel ab und zu aus und damit auch die Klimaanlage, WLAN funktionierte ab und zu. Das Essen war nicht besonders. Wenn man abends nicht vorher genau bestellt, was man will, kann es sehr lange dauern.

Reviewed By SkaladdinWe had a great stay at Osheens Guest House. The owner was really kind and caring. The breakfast was delicious. He even organised bikes for us to visit the archeological area for a really cheap price. We would totally come back.

They have a background in hospitality and it shows, from the way the bed is made up and the food is presented to the quality of service. Our room had a new super comfy mattress and this awesome mosquito tent over the bed. So easy to get in and definitely keeps critters out. The air con works great too. Everything was clean and comfortable. The location is great. Short bike ride to the ruins. The food is possibly the best part about this place. Huge feast for breakfast and dinner and it is all absolutely delicious. So much variety! Can’t rave enough about the meals. You must eat here!

Nice place, nice people
Reviewed By maelleandI stayed two nights in the dorm with my friends. Everything is clean, no wifi in the room but it works well in the other areas so that's fine. We had breakfast and dinner there twice, which was lovely (and cheap)! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We did the tour to Mihintale and really appreciated it. Also I forgot my camera's battery and charger when I left the city and the owner really did everything he could so I could get it back before I left the country. Thanks a lot for this! I definitely recommend this place!

Ideal easy to find location and provided transportation pretty much easy to access.
