Located in a wonderful old house, excellent for young people visiting Luxembourg and his country; Bourglinster has a wonderful castle, nestled on nice rocks, dated from the 12 century and dominate the region and the village by surrounding cliffs; there are two nice restaurants inside with a superb view and excellent menus; nice parking, old bookshops, ceramic and some souvenirs; the little bourg offers cultural activities, often original exhibitions in the castle; also an all year market of artisanal items and culinary variety. In the little town there are one excellent grocery store with italian specialities and home made cakes, and a butcher store. Junglinster is nearby (3km) with a very big industrial zone, boutiques, supermarket etc. Luxembourg City is about 20 minutes. This Hostal is really for youth and low for her portfolio.

The room was not nicely cleaned, very dirty under the bed and the room smelled bad. You can hear everything from the hallway, even low voices. So if you are staying here, bring earpods. Our room even had a earcleaner and a lighter left from the guests before us. Very early checkout. Breakfast is miserable. It’s two type of bread, cornflakes, cheese, ham and two jams. There’s coffee and a juice thats not even juice, it’s from concentrate. But very cheap wine in the restaurant.

Stayed here with the family, two adults and a four and five your old. Very pleasant hostel. Clean new and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was nice. Nothing fancy just a daily menu which was more than decent for the amount of money. Location is stunning even in Oktober when all the seasonal activities are no longer available.

I loved staying here for the four nights in Beaufort. It was very quiet and the breakfast was really good considering it was included in the price. The room was very clean and spacious for a dorm room. Maybe the reception could open a little earlier in the morning as I had very little time to check out, grab my $3 deposit for the towel and rush to catch the 'one bus an hour' to Diekirch for the train to Luxembourg City at 8.15am! Lovely village with a countryside feel and close to the castle and restaurants.

Located in a beautiful green arounding, quit in the nature; many young tourists from Holland and Swiss like to come here to relaxe in a peaceful atmosphere; the castle from Larochette is not faraway, and many nice walks are around, also for nice biketours.

Stayed here with the family for two nights in the fall. Beautiful surroundings and a very nice playground nearby for the children. The room (we had a family room for four) was clean and had enough space and as usual offer clean beds and clean bed sheets. The place is used a lot by schools and other outdoor enthousiasts as there is an indoor gym court and a indoor wall climbing hall. The place is not very cozy. The hallways echo massively and the dining hall is huge and extremely noisy. The food was the least impressive of all the hostels in Luxemburg so far (overcooked pasta) And the dining hall was swarmed with flies and felt a bit dirty. There are two rooms to sit and read but don’t offer a comfortable couch. Drinking a beer at night can be done next to the reception desk (two tables).

This is my first time to stay at youth hostel. Even though I didn't expect much from such an affordable hostel I do wish it would have a few amenities to make the stay more comfortable. Hostel is spanning several nice and modern houses all made from polished concrete. Interior is simple but tasteful. They have super nice outside seating overlooking amazing vineyards! Same polished concrete design is also in all of the rooms. And in winter it's freaking cold! Even turning the heater up to max didn't heat up the floor. Take wool socks for winter. One more thing about the rooms: you can practically hear everything going on next door! So if your neighbors happen to be noisy you're out of luck. I knew to take towel and shower gel with me, but I would've liked to have at least one cup in the room! How much does it cost?! Workaround is to take a cup from dining area :) Youth hostel claims that all the food they serve is super bio and what not. We ordered breakfast, lunch and dinner. You get white bread, slices of cheese and ham, few jams, cheap uneatable muesli, milk, super cheap juice, powder coffee. Day one we got rice and chili con carne. Could've used more spices. Was not tasty. Day two at dinner we got repeat of breakfast!!! What the hell. How much do few potatoes and a sausage cost people!? Mind you the dining here is FAR from cheap! Long story short: go to any supermarket or even gas station, buy same bread and few slices of ham and you are sorted for days. They do offer free WiFi :) To sum up: can't recommend this hostel for winter visitors not should you order food. Other than that in summer it can offer spectacular view and decently priced sleep over.

Despite being only 15 km or so from Luxembourg city, this place is absolutely inaccessible. It is more than half an hour driving to/from luxembourg city. I was by car and could barely find it it, even with a GPS. No indications or banners on the building at all... however, location is just the beginning of its problems. Its absolutely outdated: the building clearly had its best day long past, beds are creaky and the breakfast area feels like the worst of a school cafeteria. The worst however is that there is NO WIFI and only ONE power outlet in a room for six. Although they tell you there is WIFI, it is so slow you can't possibly use it . This means you can't watch something on YouTube or Netflix. It takes 5 seconds to load a simple text webpage... Not going here again if I can avoid it...

Brand new youth hostel in Esch-sur-Alzette. Located right next to the train station, it is perfectly accessible by public transportation. The Belval campus of Luxembourg University as well as Luxembourg's largest music venue, the Rockhal, are just a few minutes away.
Good points: new facilities, ensuite bathroom and toilet, clean, cheap for Luxembourg. Bad points: beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable, the street below is noisy until 3 a.m. and with closed windows it's too hot in summer, with no air conditioning at all. The staff seems to find it very hard to make a single smile, and they seem to have little interest for customer satisfaction. When asked for a refund, after just checkin in, paying and finding out the accommodation was not as expected, I was immediately denied it. I understood that it was not possible to refund the first two nights, but denying refund for the others is simply unacceptable. Well, that's what not only reception staff but also the manager did, after ignoring my email, when I phoned two days after. That's just a pirate attitude, and definitely not the way to run a hostel, teaching employees not to make a simple refund when it was clear that my expectations were not met. House rules would have been respected by charging the first two nights but denying the rest was just unfair. I appreciated that there was some effort to provide a different solution, but the fact that my main request - immediate refund - was denied, and the fact that I immediately understood that this was a clear instruction from above (too many complaints?) makes for a solid 1 star.
