First, we reserved online the hoste but they couldn't find the reservation so we had to pay again. Moreover, the staff we had to deal with didn't speak English. The room was horrible as well as the bathroom... The worst hostel I have been to in China so far!

This hostel is very conveniently located for access to the scenic area, with the park gate only a 10 RMB ride away (as of June 2017). It's also convenient for the rest of Wulingyuan itself, and for Baofeng Lake Park, which is just up the street. Wulingyuan itself is about an hour by minibus from Zhangjiajie city, so bear in mind that if you base yourself in Wulingyuan, you'll have to travel back and forth to Zhangjiajie city if you want to visit Tianmen mountain. That said, it's not an unpleasant journey, and the bus stations at either end are simple enough to figure out. At the hostel, the owner's son (the oft mentioned Victor) is indeed extremely helpful. He ordered discount tickets for Tianmen mountain for us, and assisted with a train ticket issue we had. He does seem to be the only member of staff who speaks any English though, so if he's not around, the other staff are of limited help unless you can speak Chinese. The rooms themselves are fine, if a little on the musty side, and they could do with a lick of paint, but the air-con worked, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean, so given the price, nothing to complain about. Recommended overall.

It's far from Tianmen Mountain Ticket office about 2-4 kms. You can take bus 6 from Train/Bus station to hostel, then take bus 4 from hostel to Tianmen Mountain Ticket office. But I dont see any interesting here except Tianmen Mountain so I highly recommend you should stay at Wulingyuan then take the bus to here.

Do NOT stay here unless you are poor! Really hard to find, horrible rooms, dirty, loud music, loud rain drops on tin roof.. worst hostel I've ever stayed at. HORRIBLE! Do NOT stay here. This place sucks!

We found the staff very helpful here, especially Roi who met us at our taxi and walked us to the hostel as it was right in the centre of town and hard to find. The location was great and rooms nice and clean. The staff spoke very good English and helped us with directions to get to Guilin, although the bus we were told to get only runs every second day which was not mentioned to us. All in all out stay was fantastic, comfortable rooms, good showers and wifi, excellent service .

Ottima posizione, prezzo buono, personale seppur non parlante inglese molto disponibile. Camera semplice, pulita e dignitosa ma niente di eccezionale. Il giudizio nel complesso non può che essere largamente positivo

The hostel is located 5 minutes walk from the Wulingyuan park entrance and is within 5 minutes' walking distance from various local stores and restaurants etc. Breathtaking view of the mountains from the hostel to be had. The landlord Kevin and the landlady, his Mum, made us feel very welcome indeed (we were two female travellers in our mid twenties) and we were really quite sorry to say goodbye to them. Also met lots of other fantastic travellers - shoutout to the three Norwegian guys who watched that Chinese film with us, the two girls from Guangxi, and the lovely couple from Shanghai! Bedroom was super comfy, large, clean and airy, with a brilliant air conditioner. Wide selection of movies to be had on the TV and a very nice bathroom as well, also very pristine. Great value for the money overall, will definitely stay here again if I visit Zhangjiajie in the future. 10/10 would recommend to other travellers!

+ The building and the whole street are an interesting attempt to recreate an older China. The location is great for the Wulingyuan ticket office The bathroom is good by Chinese standards, a western style toilet and hot water in the basin even The balcony with a street and mountain view The firm hard Chinese style bed which some won't like - It's common in China, but a shower will wet half the bathroom floor and they don't provide a floor mat so I used a hand towel. The breakfast provided by a place down the street is cheap and nasty. Go and look elsewhere as there are many places The beer was never cold Typical Chinese lack of attention to detail - the towel rack was falling off the wall internet was patchy at time
