Laid-back, low-profile Honduras is one of Central America's largely unknown tourist destinations. A recent proliferation of domestic flights has opened up the Bay Islands and the major cities of La Ceiba, Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. Buses, taxis and dug-out canoes provide other transport options. The Maya city of Copan is a UNESCO-designated heritage site with a ball court, an Acropolis and a Hieroglyphic Stairway. Other sights include El Cusuco National Cloud Forest Park, home to quetzal birds.

Just a few blocks to the center of town & all restaurants, cafes, bars and museums. Just tell your friends, I Slept with the Blue Iguana Last Night!
This is a great, clean spot in lovely Copan. The location is great - about a 20 minute walk to the ruins, and everything in the city is within 10 minutes. Hot showers, good wifi, comfy beds, a lounge area, a fantastic breakfast (and dinner) at the lovely sister hotel next door. Hamlet was running the show during my visit and he could not have been more helpful. Onward bus to Antigua for $35 US was arranged by him and went smoothly. All in all, if you are happy not having your own private bathroom then this place is great.

Friendly, inexpensive backpackers' hostel in Sandy Bay, just a few minutes walk from the botanical gardens and the dolphins. Dorm rooms with communal kitchen and porch as well as private rooms and apartments also available. Easy access to public transportation. Hostel grounds includes pool and patio, garden pergola and oceanview deck.
I booked a 3 day visit at the Roatan Backpackers Hostel and I ended up staying nearly a month. You can stay, but you might never leave! It is a very unique place. Dipping in the pool on the really hot days was a life saver and luxury you don't get at most Hostels and it doesn't take much for a pool party to develop, especially on $1.50 Margarita Mondays. Another thing that makes Mel's Backpackers' Hostel a huge treat are all the staff, which also include Mel herself. Yes, there is a Mel and she bends over backwards to provide any assistance or advice required for your adventure on Roatan and the surrounding area/Islands. Mel's Backpackers' Hostel also has a kitchen where you can save money by cooking your own food as well as a Café if you are feeling lazy. The next time I'm back in Roatan, I'll be staying at Mel's.

Palmira Hostel is located in the best neighborhood of Tegucigalpa, in a safe embassy area (our property is the former Embassy of Ecuador), one block from the United Nations building and one and a half blocks from the USA Embassy. Within walking distance from restaurants, supermarkets, malls, banks and bus stations.
It’s an easy calm hostel with nice outdoor areas and the bed in our private room is quite comfortable. In our private room is no signal at all! We ask at the reception and they just didn’t care: “The WiFi Module of your Phone is not working” (for sure it works ?) Then they told us use the WiFi in the common areas(it’s not the worst!) but still no offer to fix the problem. No offer for a room with WiFi, no offer for a SIM card.. nothing to solve it ? Keep in mind, if you need to work online or just want to plan your trip.

Tamarindo Hostel, the first backpacker's place in San Pedro Sula. We have dorm rooms, private rooms, hammocks, and enough area where you can have a nice rest after an adventure in San Pedro Sula or places near the city. We have a nice garden, terrace, free use of kitchen, reading area, and a lot more. We can inform you of tours and places to go and have fun at very cheap prices. We are close to Souvenir shops, discos, cinemas, shopping mall, restaurants, markets and supermarkets, Hedman Alas Bus station is near, hospitals and drug stores, so come over and find a good and secure area to stay at with a few bucks. We have wifi free but the use of the computers is for a very low price of $1.00 the half hour.
We booked a private room for 1 night and was pleasantly surprised.. The room we had had 2 bunk beds and 1 big bed but that was fine. It had aircon, a decent clean bathroom, warm water (not hot but they mention it). Wifi worked well and the staff were really kind and helpful.
In Hostal Mision Catracha, we want to give you an option of lodging in Tegucigalpa, the capital of the country, a jewel hidden among pine forests. We have a central location, in a safe area of Tegucigalpa, near the Las Cascadas Mall. We have shared rooms available, common rooms with TV / cable, terrace, balcony overlooking the city.

Hostal Guacamayos was born due to need for a low cost and good quality hotle and tours in La Ceiba. Our business is family runned . We have tours such as Rafting, Canopy, Hot springs, Hiking to the Bejuco waterfalls, the tours to one of the most beautiful places in Honduras (CAYOS COCHINOS). We have shuttle service to Guatemala, Nicaragua El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Belize. We now have Dive packages to Utila including transportation and dorm.
HUGE thank you to the friendly staff here at Los Guacamayos. I've been coming back to this hostel for years and stay here every time I travel between San Pedro Sula and Utila. It is safe, clean and very good value. I always enjoy the complimentary coffee! This morning after a long few days of travelling, I left my phone in the taxi from their hostel to the ferry terminal, and the staff went out of their way to respond quickly and get it back to me. So grateful - thank you!

Buena Onda..the perfect place to be like at home...enjoy the peace and good energy of the hostel and the people..with only 4 bedrooms around a big tree, Buena Onda has the capacity for 20 travelers. having the option to share in a dorm or sleep on a private room with private bathroom...Garden with hammocks, bbq and a big roof terrace where to chill at night. hot showers, big kitchen, internet, DVD movies......difficult to leave after you have been with us....
I stayed in one of the two private rooms at Buena Onda for 15 nights (or so) in Feb 2020. The room was spacious, clean and relatively dark (which I like very much given the climate of the caribbean). All fans (and lights) worked at all times, there was no power-related malfunction or other, which kept the room reasonably cool during the night. You can choose to pay extra for the AC. Bed was big enough and certainly comfortable, equipped with a mosquito net. There is daily cleaning of the room and sheets were changed every 3-4 days or so, which is a super nice service. Shared bathrooms were okay, though there wasn't any hot water. The owner explained that this is due to a broken sensor. A new was supposed to be delivered but it's an island in the caribbean - things take time ;). Anyhow, it's hot enough to enjoy a cool shower. Communal areas are spacious, clean and a great possibility to meet new people. Especially the roof terrace which includes hammocks! WIFI is free but expect some connectivity failures here and there - you're in a developing country in the caribbean, that's just how it is. The only (minor) thing: I didn't really like that the dishes would stay in the sink for quite some time after someone prepared dinner. It attracts cockroaches and other insects, but that goes out to fellow travellers, not necessarily the owner. West End, which caters mostly to US- and Canadian tourists, is about 10 mins by foot, 2 mins by taxi. There is a gas station 2 mins from the hostel, which is stocked with food and everything from tooth paste to coffee. ATM is there too. On the opposite side of the road is "Pupusa-Place", which serves delicious and very cheap Pupusas, a tasty specialty from El Salvador. Awesome pizza is served at C Level (about 15 mins by foot from the hostel) and you can hang out at "The end of the world" (a few minutes further west from the pizza place). Sophie is a wonderful and experienced host, she was super sweet and helping us out when needed - thanks again!! The place (hostel & West End) is safe but beware on the road, there is no sidewalk and no lights at night and people drive like crazy sometimes. Perhaps the best thing: there is free coffee that actually tastes like coffee!
