Mexico City Hostel and its renovated brother Mexico City Hostel Suites consists of two beautiful colonial buildings -right across from each other- and are located just a few steps from Zocalo in Mexico City's Historic Center. This colonial places will make you feel like home involved in a Mexican atmosphere. We are very close to interest places for Mexican tourist as well as backpackers from all around the world, such as galleries, museums, shops, markets, bars or night clubs, artisans, historic buildings, monuments and squares. We provide 3 types of peaceful, comfortable and spacious accommodation: private rooms with bathroom, private rooms without bathroom and cozy dormitories.
Looking through their photos I thought it would be an ugly place since they have put an ugly first photo on their page but look past that and book immediately! The place is beautiful outside and inside! They are really clean too! It’s around everything and near zocalo. I was really surprised that a hostel in Mexico can look this good. Book book book! And it was also very surprisingly cheap. The only down side is that they sell soap rather than give one for free lol

He was great in help me book tour guides, mentioned those free and always found me the fastest and cheapest route. His service also expanded to things outside his scope. I'm so grateful for his quick response and accurate information. I wonder if he ever sleeps? Lol

It is a hostel, so don’t expect it to be fancy. The room was large, but there were no windows. The lack of soap at the handwash in the shared bathrooms gets annoying, along with the lacking waterpressure. The staff is very nice though and the complementery breakfast very interesting.

Booking reference 283893-529473148 I need to make a formal complaint against your manager at Selina’s Mexico, he has robbed me lied to me and black mailed me and my partner. We have been very good clients of Selina’s all through Central America until now. If you have a team manager who I could contact and speak to about this mater I need to resolve it as I do not want to have to to contact a Mexican lawyer and go down that road. The police were in evolved, they tried to take advantage of the face my Spanish is not the best by saying they had video cameras, as I new I was innocent I said perfect let’s see the the footage. Once they realised I knew they were lying they told me I had two options, 1 pay the hotel for the damage and also pay the police. Which is corruption in Mexican law as I am sure you are aware of. As for the items missing they said they have no responsibility for these. The manager then through me out, I would like a formal review into his position and luckily a young man who just started work there 4 days earlier translated what was happening. I’m very sorry to have to Wright this email it has been very hard as I have enjoyed your hostels up until this point Regards David

Brand new hostel breakfast included, private rooms and dorms located in the historic city center, 7 minutes from the main square and next to the live craft market. Roof terrace, and outdoor common garden area, bed linnen, lockers, wifi, tv cable, kitchen and business area available. La Catrina offers Hotel services at hostel prices.
Clean. Cordial. Civilized. No Drama. The roof top terrace is a great place to work or to have a meeting or simply take in the marvelous view of the city. There is a life in the streets and there is another life on the roofs. People can see each other and interact high above street level. It was amazing. This place is great. The staff is numerous and efficient. The place runs like a well oiled machine. The continental breakfast if fine and the menu of additional breakfast items is fantastic. One can of course buy food and store it in the kitchen and use the kitchen as needed after 8AM. The internet service is adequate throughout the lodging, however I had issues with my Skype calls, even when I was relatively close to the modem on the entry level. If you work online with voice to voice communication as I do, ask reception about a second internet service. I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm room. There are not chairs, beds or mirrors in the dorm, but there were two windows equipped with insect screens. Housekeepers entered daily to sweep, mop, open the windows and empty the trash cans. The bathrooms were adequate, but during my short stay I never had hot water for a shower at night. I am not sure it that was due to the month, January 2022 or the time of day. No matter. I took care of business at the bathroom sink with soap and (cold) water. lol I chose La Catrina because it had an excellent rating and over 800 reviews on Booking, Plus the price was right, even though it was different on the La Catrina website, on Booking.com and on Hostel World. Of course you can know the price for sure by booking in advance.

DON’T COME HERE! There are better places to spend your money. This hostel is a money-machine. Music all night, the rooms smell horribly, they organize private party and close the kitchen and terrace for full days. People yell and talk in the corridors all night (up to 3am). Doors smashing every 5 minutes. You will not sleep. Moreover the rooftop is open to everyone so you won’t find any nice hostel atmosphere. It’s not a hostel, it’s a nightclub. Not to add that we couldn’t find clean toilets over two floors after the private party.

#sharingiscaring PARTY HOSTAL Conveniently placed three blocks from Zócalo – the city’s main square – Regina Lofts & Rooms Hostal is a fantastic place to stay downtown Mexico City. Breathe Regina’s art during your visit. Experience the building’s atmosphere uniquely designed by painters and actors. Enjoy the electronic scene at the impressive parties held every Friday and Saturday on the rooftop. You can met people from all over the world. Dance, eat, and laugh. Additionally, you may walk on Regina St., a cultural epicenter where you can also find a variety of restaurants offering a wide range of typical and international foods. (hostel for adults)
It is such a shame you can not clone Victor so he can work all of the hours at this hostel because if it was not for him (who was not on duty this evening) who welcomed me when i was exhausted and made me feel like id come to the right place tis place would be a hell hole. Its beautifully decorated and has a great breakfast. I was looking for a lace to chill with nice people after some bad news and have a little party before Christmas and i thought this was the place to come. Because they smelt weed from the street whilst a few guests were smoking cigarettes the fun police came out and shut the party in the party hostel which was pretty tame edge to it. For tonight and its a weekend i got to pay 50peso extra for my room... for an adult in her late 30's i was shocked to see such horrific stalking behavior from the power tripping security guard and manger with guests. Shutting the party down and waiting outside girls bedrooms to make sure they don't have sex with male guests when they have a condom box. He just walked in on 2 people this evening having sex and told them to stop and told them to pay him a bribe. This is not a secure, safe or fun place to be at the weekend. I sat back absolutely in dismay after 1 beer in shock at how paying guests who are adults are treated. The new volunteer Alex (who was on duty this evening - absolute superstar) who is wonderful my second night here with the Thursday night security and manger would have been horrific. Please don't make Alex or Victor work all the hours next time i will just come back during the week when they are working but do not come here at the weekends. Feliz-Rose I will be back as i during the week as it is a 5* Hostel during the week.

Location could not be better. Just few mins away from Zocalo and the cathedral. Room and bathroom very modest but very clean. I wish my entrance had some shutters or curtain as there was a lot of light entering during the evening. The whole place was just a bit too acustic and there was a kid screaming every evening, which was really annoying considering how loud it was. But besides that, I had a great stay and would come back. All the people working there were absolutely lovely.

Services included: Breakfast Buffet, Dinnet Buffet, Internet, Wifi. All rooms ensuited and cable TV in all Private Rooms.Hostel Amigo Suites, sister hostel to the original and famous Hostel Amigo opens its doors in 2011 with the best facilities in Mexico City. The place was designed with private rooms and small dormitories, all with private bathroom inside the room. They were planned with travelers like you in mind, so that you can find the comfort and privacy you need.
We are a group of 9 persons was booking 6 rooms in that hotel on New Year Eve (3 nights). At first we paid double tax. We had a hotel voucher from Boocking.com already including all taxes (we checked it!). But the hotel assured us that we have to pay more. OK. We paid. In the rooms was cold. The water in the shower is almost cold, the bed linens and towels are very threadbare. There were no warm blankets. The toilet wasn't functioning in one of our rooms. We were offered a bucket. We have asked many times to repair toilet or give us another room. Another room was provided only at last night. Two rooms didn't lock inside. The doors and locks are very unreliable. It can be opened with a fingernail. We ordered a taxi (three cars for nine people, wrote all information on a piece of paper and said about it two times - in english and spanish). As a result, only two cars were ordered and they was lost on the way.) We urgently needed to go to the bus station and we ordered the taxi for 9 persons again... so what ??? A "minivan" arrived... but for 7 persons!!!))) Two of us were forced to siting on the floor of the car. All our requests was satisfied somehow... In hope that we will leave soon. Amigo Suites ... never again!!!

Excellent location near bars, restaurants and museums, private rooms, shared private rooms, luggage storage, free internet wi-fi,linen,blanket and towel, tourist information and maps, coffee and snacks place, 24 hour reception, garden-terrace area to relax with hammocks.
The hostal is located in a nice neighbourhood, great for exploring the Chapultepec area, the Zona Rosa. Close to metro. The owner is very pleasant and cares about guests, he provided a map, a metro map and was happy to give more info. I could hear the guests in the next room all too well. The room was a bit tired. A TV would be nice. This was the only place I stayed in Mexico where no shampoo was provided (obviously also no blow-drier). Breakfast was nothing special, I was not even tempted for the seconds.
