This Italian-speaking region in Southern Switzerland is on the border with Italy. Bellinzona is the capital, and Lugano is the most important city in the canton, known for its beautiful waterfront, steep hillsides and gorgeous lake views. Castelgrande is a lovely medieval castle overlooking the city that has recently been restored. The Centovalli Railway is a scenic train that operates between Locarno, Switzerland and Domodossola, Italy, traveling through the breathtaking "Hundred Valleys." Lake Como is nearby, the home of People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” George Clooney.

Located just opposite to railway station, but wasn't disturbing for us. Nice, clean room with air conditioning, very good breakfast in another hotel nearby, excellent pool and free parking. Nice atmosphere under the palm trees. Excellent value for the money.

The Hostel is located just 3 km outside of Lugano, the southern-most international city of Switzerland. Lugano boasts an enchanting landscape and takes pride in its beautiful golf which is framed by the hills and mountain ranges of San Salvatore and Bre. The Hostel is situated at a perfect departure point for numerous cultural and scenic excursions that our lake region has to offer. Each year the city of Lugano offers a full calendar of cultural and recreational activities -- The Modern Art Museum, numerous athletic tournaments, Long Lake Festival and the Jazz Festival, just to mention a few. Night owls also benefit from a diverse array of attractions. The premises are easily accessible by public transport. The Hostel is situated in a vast subtropical park surrounded by marvelous vegetation. Our premises is outfitted with a swimming pool with slide, etc… and open grill area which allows our guests to enjoy their meals under our brand new outdoor canopy! The rooms and apartments of the Hostel were newly renovated in 2015 and offer plenty of comfort, so that you can enjoy relaxing holidays. The breakfast buffet is rich with local organic products.
Eva was fantastic on reception , helpful , hard working and knowledgeable. The en-suite twin room was large and super clean. Breakfast was better than average with a reasonable selection. The grounds are magnificent and the pool so refreshing. Undoubtedly the best youth hostel I have ever stayed in.

Because the Canton of Ticino is located almost at sea level (at an altitude of 192 metres), it is possible to enjoy a Mediterranean climate from springtime until the end of November. It also means that a large part of life at the "Palagiovani" is spent outdoors - for example at a "Grigliata" in the inner courtyard surrounded by the building's three wings. Naturally, nearly all the modern double and four-person rooms have a balcony. And it's also pleasant to get together on the veranda or under the pergola.
Not sure if this is on me or not but I could sleep at other hostels before in much bigger dorms. I had a bed in a 2 bed room this time but couldn't sleep for a second the first night and only very little the next one. I can't really say what's the cause, it was not the noise because after 10pm it was very quiet. Maybe the lack of an AC? Maybe the fact that the bed made noises every time you moved only a little bit? Or maybe it's just that the pillow and mattress were uncomfortable. Also, the the check in was a bit of a hassle because the employee didn't speak English very well. The breakfast is fine but nothing special and if you come too late (e.g. 30 minutes after it opens) the juices and breads are gone.

It was everything except what I expected! It was cosey, a little like feeling at home, but with good weather and a nice view. Breakfast with homemade jams, choice of Swiss cheeses, sit in- or outside terraces you could choose. The owner, Dea, was a nice lady and helpful as you mom at home.

The EasyRooms dell’Angelo, with its original foundation walls dating from 18th Century, is directly beside the Hotel dell’Angelo and right at the Piazza Grande. The train station, the lakefront and the shops are nearby. 14 rooms have shared bathroom with other rooms and 2 rooms dispose of private bathroom. Guests of EasyRooms may also use all the facilities of the Hotel dell’Angelo. The Cafe-Bar and the Restaurant-Pizzeria with the sunny terrace on the Piazza Grande are open daily and offers a varied choice of traditional dishes and crispy pizzas from the wood-burning oven. Moreover, there are also two panoramic terraces, a parking space for bicycles and discounted parking tickets at the nearby car park.
Poor location if you're a family looking for a good night sleep and you're traveling during the weekend. There was a lot of noise coming from bars down on the street until 2:30 AM. The room was okay, but the breakfast was "the bare minimum", and the croissants were old and dry. The WiFi did not work.

Quite a good location, around 600 meters from Train station. The room was clean as well as the bathroom but the toilet are so very small. The duvet is super comfortable with a thick down. The owner is really generous. After all it's worth the money.

In Bellinzona the youth hostel welcomes you to the heart of Ticino. The hostel lies at the foot of the Montebello Castle, part of the UNESCO world heritage, only 10 minutes away from the railway-station, in the historic center. It is an ideal departure point for excursions and also a stopover for those travelling across the Alps.
We stayed at this lovely hostel for 2 nights. After a short walk through beautiful street we reached at the hostel, It took about 10mins from train station. Friendly & helpful staff, clean rooms, bathrooms. Breakfast was ok. We had a pleasant stay.

There are two restaurants at the top of Robiei, depending which lift you take up. This one has a little playground and amazing views of the glacier and dam. The connecting hotel is cute and a great starting point for hiking around the area.

Family B&B - rooms with bath/shower/Wc/Tv and some with balcony. Free parking The B&B is situated in a small village, in Prato Leventina, south of swiss alps. 150 km from Zurich and 150 km from Milan. Exit highway A42 - 10 km south of the St. Gottard tunnel. Easy to reach - following the signs. Ideal for relaxing vacations or for a pleasant stop before continuing a trip south or north.
We stayed here twice going to and coming from Italy for our holidays and we felt very welcome. Good, very clean rooms, the nicest host and a breakfast that could not have been better with fresh, home made products. Just off the road leading to/from the Gotthard tunnel/pass in a quiet hamlet.

A zen space in a wild valley, this 19th century villa is fully renovated and ready to host backpackers, families, climbers, and groups looking to get away from it all. We often host events like weddings and birthday parties.
Super friendly staff ready to help you any time. The beds in the dorm were comfy and the bathrooms clean and well maintained. The villa is situated in the most beautiful valley of Tessin. I can recommend this place a 100%
