Situated at the feet of the western Pyrenees near the French border, Spain's Basque country comprises three provinces: Guipúzcoa and the popular beachfront capital of San Sebastian; Viscaya, where capital Bilbao houses the jaw-dropping Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum; and Alava, whose capital Vitoria teems with medieval architecture. Running with the bulls at Pamplona and drinking rioja from area wineries add to the region's exotic romanticism. Travel in early summer and fall to dodge the madding crowds.

Quartier Bilbao Hostel is located in one of the most emblematic areas of Bilbao, in the heart of the old town (Casco Viejo); a pedestrian area, only 50 m from Ribera´s Market, 100m from Santiago´s Cathedral and 120 m from Plaza Nueva. It is surrounded by commercial stores and restaurants, very close to areas of atmosphere. You can savour the famous “Pintxos” and get lost in the charming little streets of the old town. Quartier Bilbao offers quality, yet affordable fun. Built in a legendary building in the Old Town, a Fabric Store. To retain this important link with the past, the authentic architectural style has been preserved, giving space to an industrial design boutique hostel. Therefore, it combines style and design, but also comfort as if you were in a hotel, but with the price and social atmosphere of a hostel. The Hostel offers modern facilities and an informal atmosphere. Other shared facilities available at Quartier Bilbao Hostel include a rooftop terrace and a kitchenette.
Pretty good enviroment, everything was so clean and confortable. Breakfast are really good too. The staff help us in a lot of things too like restaurant recomendations, places to visit, ways to go to the airport, they were so nice :). Highly recomended.

The location was excellent, close to the city center and the train station. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, the reception staff is friendly and helpful. I had already read good reviews but it was more than I expected. I'll surely repeat.

This pension is in a great location, all places of interest are easily reached by foot or local transport. The rooms are very clean, quite small but have everything you need for a short, comfortable stay. The only downside was the noise from the room next door, we could hear everything, and I mean everything, that the couple next door were doing/saying at night and that wasn't pleasant ...there does not seem to be any noise insulation and for that reason only, we would not stay here again. Otherwise, all very good.

This is a clean and safe place close to the metro and only a 15 min walk from the Guggenheim museum of Bilbao. I slept in a room with 4 beds and my roommates were all kind and respectful. The hostel reception was always ready to answer questions and address any issue. Highly recommended

We arrived into San Sebastian quite late at night by train and we were quietly surprised when our taxi dropped us off at this property that the reception was manned 24/7. The accomodation itself was compact but had everything we needed for a night. Loved that we could open the window and let in fresh air. Very quiet considering, apparently, it is student accomodation plus, so we did expect more noise. Very close to bars and tapas restaurants

This was great value considering that accommodation is expensive in this region. It is very close to the main bus station when arriving to Bilbao although it is an uphill walk. You'll be happy about this if you having some evening drinks outside here as this is a great view of the city. Breakfast is simple but an added bonus for the price. It includes orange juice, bread and rolls which can be toasted, jams, pastries and cakes. The staff are really helpful and friendly too.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property and including breakfast in the price, Lekeitio Aterpetxea Hostel offers accommodation in Lekeitio, 43 km from San Sebastian and 36 km from Bilbao. Every room has a private bathroom. An array of activities is offered in the area, such as horse riding, cycling and diving.
We stayed here for one night on our backpacking tour of the Basque Country. We LOVED it! The host was super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He showed us the best parts of the town to see and even made us breakfast in the morning! He also phoned a bus company to confirm the bus time I had seen online just to check that we could leave safely! We will definitely return if we are ever in Lekeitio again and we cannot recommend this place enough! One word of advice tho- do let them know in advance if you don't speak Spanish! It's a husband and wife team but he doesn't speak much English. (Not a problem for us but it might be for some)
