If you are looking for an active place to stay with world-class attractions, Ohio’s major cities can satisfy any vacation desire. Each offers its own distinct flavor of fun, from professional sports – Bengals (Cincinnati), Cavaliers (Cleveland) and Indians (Cleveland again) – to museums, outdoor activities and more. One of the most famous is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. If football is your thing, don’t miss the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. For the science-minded, visit the meat eaters at the Carnivore Conservation Center in the Wilds near Cambridge, dedicated to the breeding and scientific study of endangered mid-sized carnivores. Kids will also love Planet Snoopy in Sandusky or the Columbus Zoo’s Zoombezi Bay Waterpark and Jack’s Landing rides.

My daughter was visiting from Florida and we made a trip to the HH area. The owner of Blue Moon provided an excellent experience. She was patient with another couple that decided to leave after we had gone through nearly 40 minutes of prep. We enjoyed helping with horses and the fact that they had personalities rather than being 'dead heads'. The owner clearly cares about the animals and their safety/health was the main priority. We would definitely book again.

Hocking Hills area, horseback trails, hay rides
My husband, our 16 and 9 year old boys, and I enjoyed a beautiful 2-hour trail ride with Uncle Buck’s today! The horses (Knight, Autumn, Shea, and Beauty) were great! With the help of our very friendly and patient guides, they were able to navigate what I would consider to be somewhat challenging trails in the picturesque Zaleski State Forest, while making us feel completely at ease. We’ve done trail rides in places like Tennessee and South Dakota, but this was definitely one of our favorites. Highly recommend! They’re located about 45 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park—worth the drive!

My family had a wonderful ride with Jackie and Kristy. We got to see deer and a blue heron. I took my 9 year old twins and my mom who is 74. Jackie did an amazing job pairing us up with the right horse for our level. Beautiful farm and beautiful friendly people. Thank you for the great experience!

I have rode horses since I was 7 years old and in a wide variety of locations throughout the world but this was by far the best. Happy Trails is not fancy but the owners and guides are friendly and welcoming. They evaluate each rider and find the best match for each person. We took a trail across a stream, up a hill and into a cave where we got a short history lesson and then on through huge boulders to Table Rock before returning back to the barn. The Hocking Hills area is just perfect for a memorable equine experience. This area is a hidden gem in the state of Ohio and Happy Trails made the experience even more special. My sincerest thanks to all.

We are a small boutique winery in Amish Country, Holmes county Ohio. We are part of a group of small businesses that include a small country Inn, the winery and a horseback riding stable. Stop by and try some of our wines. Please keep in mind that we are an agricultural winery and have a small but nice selection of wines. Live local entertainment on Friday evenings from Mid March until Thanksgiving weekend!
