Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

Our family took the two-hour ride and LOVED it! Simply beautiful views and scenery along the way. The guided ride took us near Deer Mountain and included some local lore and interesting facts of the mountain and it’s trees along the way. The ride is slow and very peaceful. Maddie was our guide who also recommended sights to see inside RMNP, as well as many great eateries in Estes Park. The trail was very dusty; I would wear a bandana.

If you read a review about how amazing this experience is, it is 100% correct. We spend each fall break in Colorado and this will be a mandatory stop from here on out. Our family of 6 did this from 7 years old to 40’s and we loved every minute of it. Mike and Amy were AMAZING with our kids. They engaged with them in every opportunity. If you want to meet people that seemed to have taken their passions and turned it into a way to make money, they are it. We did a 2 hour ride but I think it was more like 3 hours. They let us ride the horses at any pace we wanted. RECOMMENDED no matter what your comfort level.

The Rusty Spurr Ranch offers non-nose-to-tail riding. Our guests are permitted, encouraged and given instruction on how to spread out and ride abreast instead of in a strict nose-to-tail fashion. We offer a variety of trail ride experiences, a 3-4 hour Cattle Drive and our all-in-one Saddle&Paddle activity providing the opportunity to ride and raft all in one day! We are centrally located to several top Colorado resorts. We are about an hour from Breckenridge, Steamboat and Winter Park, so wherever you stay you can easily enjoy a ride with us.
We booked the 3 hour ride and it was just the guide Pete, and my family of 4. Pete was extremely knowledgeable and a fantastic guide. The 3 hour takes you over a ridge into a lovely area the 2 hour doesn’t reach. We went in June the the mosquitoes were bad in some areas of the ride, so spray your entire body, not just your exposed skin as they bite thru clothing. Having a saddlebag to carry a camera, water and bug spray was great.
