Fun adventure for the entire family - TAVAS living early aviation display. The most unique aviation museum in Australia. The only museum in this country that concentrates solely on the first 30 years of powered flight - and houses the only collection of flying WWI type aircraft in Australia. Includes several aircraft that can't be seen anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere.
TAVAS, what a fantastic place to visit. I had expected to spend, at most an hour here. Over 2 hours later my wife phoned me asking if I had actually forgotten her. "Ah no, just so much to see and take in here." Nathalie and Andrew were both so friendly and so willing to share their knowledge of this wonderful place. I will certainly be back, when we are in Noosa for Christmas.

The heritage-listed Commissariat Store was hand built and completed by convicts in 1829, using Brisbane Tuff from the Kangaroo Point cliffs. The Store (now a museum run by the Royal Historical Society of Queensland) and the Windmill on Wickham Tce, are the only buildings remaining from the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement. The Commissariat Store is Queensland's most significant heritage building/landmark, as it represents the commencement of European settlement. This historic site, located in Queen's Wharf Brisbane in the CBD, is also considered the birthplace of Brisbane.
Brisbane's second oldest building. Not much inside it, just a small exhibition looking at the early colonial days, although well told with some good artefacts and a lot of dedicated staff, and not too expensive.

This museum focuses on Brisbane's time as Pacific headquarters during World War II.
Absolutely marvellous museum chronicling life in Brisbane in the 1940s. I was fortunate to be given a personal tour of the place by one of the awesome volunteers there. If you have any interest in WW2 history, just go!

Wow really surprised by the Abbey Museum, the reviews sounded good so risked a 1hr drive from Brisbane to check it out. Travel back in time from British Stone Age, to Medieval times complete with armor, and then some interesting historical pieces from Egypt and Asia. The displays & information provided was excellent ! Great for everyone & worth the trip.

Celebrate the evolution of Redcliffe Peninsula's character, identity and discover its significance in Australian history. Reminisce about the heyday of seaside holidays and marvel at the vision and hard work needed to make the peninsula what it is today. The museum features: - films about the early days of the Redcliffe peninsula - a celebration of holidays by the seaside - treasured photographs showing Redcliffe years ago and now - memory boxes to rummage through and uncover items and stories from the past - the Imaginarium - a fun, intergenerational space to play - a diverse programme of events, exhibitions and workshops for adults and children.
This light, bright museum with friendly, helpful staff is well worth a visit if you are interested in the history of the Redcliffe Peninsula. Well set out with enlightening explanations. I was very interested in the section explaining the Aboriginal history of the area.
