The Nanki/Kishu area is a beautiful area, not too widely toured by foreign visitors. With the itinerary and the scenic drive, it is a combination that is quite unforgettable. The itinerary can be adjusted as necessary and stops requested along the way. Please feel free to request any changes at any time.

We made friends with Shoji instantly and felt like we have been acquainted for a long time. The flexibility to chose locations that suited our wants and abilities was great. Hiro San was very quick to put together an itinerary that accommodated a family with a stroller-baby (no monkey park due to long unpacked walking paths). Taking in the beautiful temples and view of the Kyoto from the west was breath taking and the guide was able to explain many things we as new Japanese learners could not read or know through cultural knowledge. Overall a great experience, a wonderful and lively guide, and some great memories.

The tour was just like a live stream. You will get on a rickshaw and your friendly driver will show you around in Kyoto. After the ride, your guide will walk with you and take you to the beautiful bamboo forest and Tenruji Temple. You will also meet monkeys at the park in Iwatayama! The only thing I was disappointed about was I couldn't taste the Shojin Ryori or Buddhist vegetarian meal that our guide Mickey-san showed and explained. I should be on the real tour!

The session with Noriko was great and I recommend it even if you are worried about virtual experience. I have done several virtual tours but this was the best one full of excellent information. Noriko answered all my questions had great food and sake information to deliver.
5. Kumano Kodo walking tour 3 days
Not far away from the urban jungle that is Osaka and the old capital Kyoto, is the Kii Peninsula and its famous pilgrimage : the Kumanokodo. The scenery is outstanding and well worth the walk. It is presented as an easy walk but I believe it is for those who are quite physically fit as the walk from Nakatsugawa to Magome is mostly uphill- steep in some areas for a sustained time. A hiking stick would be helpful and runners are suitable footwear. We carried back packs (keep them light) with our necessities and drinking flasks. The route from the rail station to out of town is somewhat confusing and there are many turns until you actually begin on the flecked gravel road. Thankfully we passed hikers travelling in the opposite direction who assisted. We stayed in an Inn (which was booked for us by an agent) and it was quite basic, the meal being adequate (inform of any allergies). Day 2 was more picturesque and downhill for part of the way. Stop at the teahouse for a pleasurable green tea (small donation). On completion, transport from Tsumago is limited so you may be waiting an hour or two for a bus. Be prepared for a vigorous and beautiful walk.
6. Wakayama Castle Town Walking Tour
We will first walk up to the base ground of the majestic Wakayama Castle Tower and enjoy the nice view of the castle (Admission to inside castle tower is not included). We will talk about the history of the city and castle along the way. After visiting the castle tower, we will stroll through Downtown Wakayama area and show you the local people's life, tradition, culture, foods and so on. If you ever feel tired of walking during our tour, we can always take a break anywhere on our way. We know the best Japanese traditional sweets shop in town for your nice break too!! Make sure to ask many questions to your guide, since we are all professional licensed guides, and most importantly we are Wakayama locals !! The more you know the city, the more you can enjoy !! Also do not forget to try our famous Wakayama ramen. we'll give you all the recommendations in town for your best experience here in Wakayama City! We will be walking about 3km (or 2 miles), some uphills to the castle tower.

Noriko was great! We took the day trip to Mount Koya, including a first stop at the Niufutsuhime Shrine, where we learnt a lot on Kodo Daishi ;o). We then made our way to Mount Koya, where Noriko brought us on a walking tour from the main gate all the way to the Ofokuin. She was very knowledgable, and provided us with a lot of tips we probably wouldn't have known if we did this on our own. We got to see a lot of things that made the experience a great one! We would most definitely get her to bring us around again when we visit Wakayama again!
