Hiking trails and art galleries abound in Stellenbosch, but it's wine that takes center stage. More than 100 wine cellars, most open to the public, surround the oak-lined South African town, and tasting tours operate daily. Winter brings a four-day festival celebrating the local vintages. The historic town center houses the trading-post style shop Oom Samie se Winkel, the Neo-Gothic Moederkerk church, and museums dedicated to toys, military memorabilia, autos and early life on the Cape.

I booked a full day tour with Victor and it was amazing. His knowledge of the area and professionalism made him the perfect guide. He was on time and has sparkly clean and comfortable transportation. We went down the coast to Hout Bay where we stopped and took a short boat ride to see seals. From there we took Chapman's Peak Drive and stopped along the way at lookout areas to take some photos. Another stop was at an ostrich farm. It was fun feeding the ostriches and they had a very nice gift shop. We arrived at Cape Point and rode the Flying Dutchmen Funicular to the top. The views were amazing. On the way back to Cape Town we stopped at Boulder Beach to see the penguins and had a lovely meal in Simon's Town. I enjoyed every part of the tour and highly recommend booking his tours.

Angelo took me and my husband on a private Cape Town day tour. It was such an amazing trip and we fell in love with South Africa instantly. Angelo was very professional and was just so pleasant and chill throughout our tour. He was very knowledgeable and we were so grateful to have him as our guide. Even though we were on a time constraint (we only had one full day in Cape Town), Angelo was still able to show us a bit of everything, fully utilizing his expertise of the area. This tour is so worth it, and we will definitely be heading back and asking for Angelo again!

On this tour, a gourmet picnic lunch is enjoyed at a venue of choice at a winery or estate around the region, and is included as part of the tour package. The rest of the tour is similar to the standard private tour (includes the usual flights most representative of the chosen wineries). Typically, we visit a total of 4 destinations (3 tastings plus the picnic lunch) in order to facilitate a relaxed, unrushed experience. Like all private tours, the itinerary is fully customizable - we can incorporate specifically requested wineries into the itinerary. Pricing levels may vary according to specification, and given as guidelines only.

We were a group of family of 6 and enjoyed every second. The driver was very informative. Our first stop was LilyPatrick, which is a new brewery and it was unforgettable. In our group was a few anti beer and brqndy drinkers, but they partook every time and it was hilarious.

Given the current COVID-19 concerns, a private tour was just what my partner and I needed. We had an absolutely amazing time with our tour guide Armando! He was incredibly knowledgable about the sites we visited on our tour as well as entertaining, making for an all around great day touring the cape. Our pick up was timely as well. Armando also allowed for reasonable breaks in between tour sites so we can really enjoy the spots we visited. Anyone interested in a comfortable and fun tour should certainly book with these guys they are great!

This Garden Route tour for 16 of us in two minibuses was just excellent. Our drivers/tour managers were the very knowledgeable Kevin and Wayne where nothing was too much trouble and the driving very good. The itinerary for each of the days was super and although the Days 1 and 4 were long driving they were broken up with stops. The hotels were fine with the Blackwaters River Lodge the stand out, brilliant setting, rooms, services and food, we even saw a snake (rare apparently) slither across the car park. At the Botlierskop Safari Lodge an amazing breakfast followed by a safari drive in a large 4x4 (necessary) to seat us all over some of the roughest and steepest terrain ever. What a day only the lions didn't come out to play but never mind. Would I go again - in an instant I would.

The actual locations we went to during this tour were great, don’t get me wrong. But the tour guide, Chris (if that’s even his name, he spoke Afrikaans, Spanish, and Dutch), was absolutely awful. He was super negative the entire time and was EXTREMELY rude to almost everyone he came into contact with. Yelling at Muslim women and cursing at parking attendants. He also made everyone in the tour uncomfortable when he stopped to buy weed... We even met up with some of the other tour guests the following day and the consensus was the same. What a jerk. We couldn’t wait to get the whole thing over with.

My guide Chris was so nice and gave me lots of information about Table Mountain and Robben Island. It's a lot to fit into one day so bring plenty of sun protection and water. I hiked at the top of Table Mountain for an hour and a half and the views are stunning. Wear a good pair of trainers or walking shoes if you want to explore as the floor is obviously rocky. Robben island is also a good tour and if you love history then you'll get so much out of being taken around the prison by a former inmate and the emotional stories they tell so definitely worth a visit. Go with Sadie Cape Town tours as they are on time and very friendly.
