Enjoy a tour in the heart of Edo (one of the former names of Tokyo) The Imperial Palace has been located in the center of the great metropolice since the Edo (1603-1868) period. You may have seen photos of its exterior; the moat, bridges, stone walls and gates, but did you know that you could go inside, too? In this tour, you will visit the art gallery with displays of Japanese art and craft, the ruins of the Edo Castle and a beautiful park full of greenery, all within the grounds of the palace. You can also enjoy the views of the contrast between the modern Marunouchi office buildings and the traditional and historic grounds of the Imperial Palace. While we were sad to have to cancel our July trip to Japan due to the pandemic, we found the process of working with Japan Awaits to be easy and efficient. I can't speak to the full experience since we weren't able to go, but filling out the form and our communication with the company was no problem. And their prompt and courteous response to our request for a refund speaks to their professionalism. We will definitely come back to ask for their help in procuring tickets to the Studio Ghibli Museum when we do finally make it to Japan! Fingers crossed for next summer.

Wonderful tour experiencing what has actually occurred, what are currently going on in Fukushima since the incidents. I went far beyond my expectation and could not be better. The well-experienced tour guide gave us much insight on top of what we saw and hear there. The 3-hour tour of damaged nuclear power plant which is not currently open for public would particularly be a highlight of this tour. Directly guided by staff of the power company with a Geiger counter hung from the neck of each one. Tours go around the area show us the unmanageable power of Tsunami and seriousness of the radioactive contamination.

The tour was just like a live stream. You will get on a rickshaw and your friendly driver will show you around in Kyoto. After the ride, your guide will walk with you and take you to the beautiful bamboo forest and Tenruji Temple. You will also meet monkeys at the park in Iwatayama! The only thing I was disappointed about was I couldn't taste the Shojin Ryori or Buddhist vegetarian meal that our guide Mickey-san showed and explained. I should be on the real tour!
