A city with a lively history, Lviv (also spelled L’viv and Lvov) in Ukraine’s west was founded in the 13th century and has changed flags many times in the years since, having been part of Poland, Austria-Hungary and the Soviet empire. The city’s well-preserved historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has attractions like the Market Square (Ploshcha Rynok). Climb the tower at the town hall for a great city view. The Lviv Opera House is dazzling and hosts world-class performances.

The House of Scientists boasts the most amazing staircase you'll likely ever see. No wonder it is used for wedding photos. The architectural style is beautiful and it is charming to walk through the covered entrance to the side door (which opens into the view of the magnificent staircase) and well worth the tour!

I like this place. It's a very cozy and compact building with a lot of historical treasures inside. Most of all I like the exhibition of very old dishes. It was so interesting to know more about life in Lviv and region a few centuries ago.
