In the oldest barn in Denmark you find the best WW2 museum in Denmark from a Danish perspective on the occupation and resistance that followed. Authentic memorabilia combined with great story telling and nicely laid out exhibits make this museum a must see for anyone interested in WW2. You can also get close to and old Viking ship and see the old manor Bangsbo. The gardens are suberbly laid out too and in the adjacent field and forest you can see many deers. Highly recommend!

The home of Skagen painters Anna and Michael Ancher, presented exactly the same way as it was when Anna Ancher died in 1935 with their personal possessions along with 280+ artworks hanged or placed around the house. Also includes cafe, museum store and a space for small special exhibitions.
If you're the least interested in paintings or the life of artists, do go here. The house of Anna and Michael Ancher is crammed with paintings, atmosphere and so many stories.

The visit to Ribe Viking Center was very exciting. I was able to put my hand on various attractions and try archery, woodwork, knitting with needle. The vikings who were in the houses were happy to answer the questions and I gained a lot of new knowledge. The Center also has a farm with many animals: cows, sheep’s, pig with piglets and some friendly cats. In the middle of the day there was an exciting bird show and in addition you could see a cool performance where viking played with fire and did some juggling.

About an hour drive from Aarhus, this is a great way to spend an afternoon feeling a real sense of place, with rune stones (carved memorials) burial mounds, remnants of a palisade and a sense of the conversion to Christianity. The museum is interesting and well designed, using high tech interactive exhibits to tell the Viking story, and gives a real sense of context to the historical site.

The burial site of Lindholm Hoje is one of the most beautiful ancient monuments in Denmark from late Iron Age and the Viking Age. Several hundred stone circles indicate the tombs. In the museum, you can see an exhibition on the lives of the Vikings on Lindholm Hoje as well as a new exhibition on the ancient time in the land of the Limfjorden.
If you are in Aalborg, don't miss to go here. The museum is very nice, as well as the outdoor area..
