We were fortunate to visit with a BBC war journalist and he was able to share the story of this site in incredible detail... be sure to research prior to, or during, your visit.

What an interesting museum this is! Built in the fifties and made redundant a few decades later, still is of importance for the cold war period. The history of the space, cut out into the hill, gives a great impression of both sides of that period. When we visited in December, there was an exhibition about the Berlin Wall. All in all, great place to visit. Please be aware to first buy your 4 euro ticket in Kemmel at the tourist info building. That’s 1 km from the site.
