I went with the excellent Tinariwen Tours, after a week's 4x4 tour round the Tadrart Rouge. this seems to be one of the most ancient pieces of prehistoric rock art in the Sahara, and one of the rare ones surviving from the 'wet season' (as it was then) when people dispersed over the lowlands. Most rock art is from higher altitude 'dry season' shelters.

This site is just over 30 minutes away from Constantine by car. I paid a taxi driver to take me and hang around to take me back to Constantine. Public transport probably isn’t an option. The surrounding scenery is quite beautiful, at least it was on the sunny day in April when I visited. The ruins cover quite a large area, but there were only about twenty other people there when I visited so it was very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed waking around the hilly grounds taking in the ruins. I guess some people would feel the need for a guide or a guide book but I was content to just absorb the views. It’s probably staying the obvious but I advise sensible footwear as the terrain is quite rocky/hilly.
