Treasure Trails

The company, run by Allan Hamilton provides mystery walking and driving trails across the south of Northern Ireland and aims to get people to switch off their TVs and games consoles and get out and about exploring the towns and cities of Northern Ireland, learning, and having fun. A Treasure Trail can best be described as a cross between a quiz and a guided walk, and has been compared to a giant game of Clued. Trailers complete a Trail in their own time and at their own pace, following the directions around the best historic and scenic sights of a location.

Blackhead Path

Reviewed By Steveodo - Carrickfergus, United Kingdom

The Black Head Path has reopened again after a couple of years being shut for repairs. Its free. You drive down Old Castle Road to use the car park on the sea front in Whitehead (another road, McRae’s Brae, turns into a private road and is not suitable at all). I was surprised to see something new from the path. It happened very quickly; some big, silvery fish, very close to shore, leaping straight up out of the water. Happened twice, in different places. People tell me it may have been sea trout. The weather was rainy, and I did not care. This is a great coastal walk whatever the weather or month of the year. The new wooden railings on the upper path look great. I went back on a sunnier day, and saw lizards. With the path being closed I’d not seen any for years. Out to sea three Archer Class Royal Navy ships were powering into Belfast Lough. You never know what you’re going to see. Returning here is such a good experience. Blackhead Path Preservation Society were the group of private citizens who got together to successfully lobby to get the path restored. The money came from Mid & East Antrim Council, while the work was done by contractors F.P. McCann and ProNet the cliff netting specialists. Good job, many thanks.

5 of us hired electric bikes for a couple of hours. Was just the best craic I’ve had in a long time. Adeline, laughs, thrills & fantastic scenery. The guys at Castlewellan were very (funny?) and extremely helpful. Would defiance recommend this activity. Devon, Paul and all the others, thanks for great memories.

Cladagh Glen Walk

Reviewed By 502deef

We did this walk yesterday, as a guided tour from the Marbel Arch caves visitor center. The tour was called, 'Unlocking the Hidden Worlds of the Cladagh Glen guided walk' It was brilliant, our tour Guide Ian, talked us through the foliage and Fauna, the geology of the area, the fallen caves and how Neolithic man could have made mistakes with their thinking, the tour was fascinating. We ended up at a waterfall, which was amazing, great photos, great day out for family and well worth the few bob. Had we not come across this tour online, we would have missed out on all added information to the walk. Our experience was very much enhanced by booking this tour.
