The Tom Thomson Trail is a non-motorized, multi-use (biking, hiking and horseback riding), 3-season (spring through fall) trail between Meaford and Owen Sound. The trailhead kiosk can be found at Fred Raper Park in Meaford. Travel through the countryside and along quiet country roads to see some of the most beautiful vistas in the area.

When visiting Bruce Peninsula National Park, start your adventure at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre in Tobermory. Here you'll find information to help plan your visit including tips on where to go when the Cyprus Lake parking lots are full, activities for children, and recommendations on hiking trails. Don't forget the Visitor Centre also includes a natural history museum and just around the corner, a viewing tower and some great hiking trails. While you're at the Visitor Centre take in an Interpretation program. Other visitor attractions in the park include Singing Sands Beach, Halfway Log Dump with incredible views of limestone cliffs and boulder beaches, and of course the Grotto and Indian Head Cove near Cyprus Lake. Bruce Peninsula National Park also includes the popular Cyprus Lake Campground with 232 camp sites and 10 yurt accommodations. Please visit the park website for more information and links to the Parks Canada reservations website. July and August are extrememly busy times in the park so plan your trip accordingly and visit the park website for information on other attractions in the area, fees, hours, park regulations and safety tips.
Even though the park is beautiful for hiking and sight seeing, my favourite spot remains the Observation Tower, high above the forest, rewarding those who climb all the way to its top with an incredible view of the point where Huron Lake meets Georgian Bay, way on the far horizon.

Almost inside a city, Indian Falls are in Sarawak Township, at the northwestern edge of Owen Sound. A one-kilometre walk through Indian Falls Conservation Area leads through ferns, trees and wildflowers. The horseshoe-shaped falls drop to a quiet pool before Indian Creek flows on to empty into Owen Sound Bay.Driving Directions:Follow the scenic Georgian Bay Route from 2nd Avenue West to Grey Road 1. Look for Conservation Area sign directing you west to parking area.
Had some time to myself. Went for a road trip from Burlington (Toronto) to Owen Sound as I need to get close to the water. Enjoyed my breakfast at the mouth of the river going into the sound. Great view. Drew up out north of Owen Sound and came across sign for Indian Falls. I had just been raining so the creek was raging and was over-running at certain places, saw a trout jumping up stream. The whole area is very quaint and borderline idyllic. There is a slight climb up the bank support by simple but very useful stairs. Slippery at certain places due to the rain, but worth the climb up. The fails are quite the view because it literally looks like a huge Caterpillar has taken a huge chunk out of the landscape creating the quite rapid falls. Beautiful experience for a Sunday afternoon hick

Since retiring to Collingwood in 2016, it has been one of my greatest pleasures to daily cycle the beautiful landscapes along the Georgian Trail and its many interesting side trails from mountain to shoreline. Nature 's welcome embraces you at every turn. Some days I peddle across town to Sunset Park via the shoreline trails, past the Inushtuk to stop a while and sit on one of the numerous benches with a delicious ice cream from the on site ice cream vendor. Other trips have included rides to Thornbury to the west with stops along the way such as taking g in the history of the area thanks to the Heritage Museum at Craigleith, to snap photos along the way and challenge these aging knees with a gradual grade incline and wind resistance past Georgian Peaks. There is always something interesting to explore and e experience along the trails but if I told you then that may rib you of some of your joy in the discovering. Welcome to Collingwood , Thornbury area along the wonderfull Georgian Trail it's yours to discover! Enjoy and please be respectful to leave nothing behind but your gratitude????

Visited in November after the main run of Salmon had finished. We didn't see the main run but the fish we did see were pretty exciting. If you want to see the fish you have to keep your eyes on the base of the ladder for a few minutes as the fish jump lasts only a second and they rest between tries. There are lots of great vantage points to see the ladder from a few different angles. The area is really pretty so it's nice to come here for a look, stroll around or ride your bike, grab a snack or meal and browse the shops. Lots of benches and lawn around for picnicking too.
