We’re doing things at Moonrise Distillery like they’ve been done since the early 1950s. While it seems like an old-fashioned, inefficient process, our use of tried and true methods and time consuming double-distillation removes impurities for a more refined sipping bourbon and rye whiskey. And unlike most distillers, we let our spirits tell us when they are ready - aging by taste and not by time. We also craft small batch vodka, artisan gin and brandy. Our mountain distillery setting is the perfect place to enjoy a souvenir tasting tour and then relax and enjoy our craft cocktails. Our venue features an 80 foot long covered front porch with view of Black Rock Mountain, an outdoor grotto and fire pit area. We also host live music at our music pavilion complete with turf lawn. We are open for tours Monday through Saturday except Wednesday from 11am to 5pm. We remain open for cocktails and relaxation until 8pm. Our Sunday hours are 12;30 to 8. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Great tasting and great knowledge by Doug. Bourbon and Rye tastings were excellent !! The pre mixed cocktails that the sell on site in cans were amazingly good!! Well worth the time and fun outing for adult family members!!

Nice little distillery with quite a history. Interesting talking with the staff while tasting a variety of whiskeys - chilled or room temperature.

Wow! What a great State Park! Admission was only $5 per vehicle with multiple hiking trail options for people of all fitness levels as well as other amenities. Loved hiking down to the Hurricane Falls overlook and hiking the north and south rim trails and crossing the very cool suspension bridge. Most hikes involve lots of climbing and descending hundreds of stairs, but the entire stair system is very well constructed with multiple resting spots/benches, shaded pavilions, and free water bottle refill stations. Overlooks are gorgeous and trails are well-maintained. The views of the gorge and rapids/falls were all stunning. It can be very hot during mid-day during the summer but it is well worth a visit.

We rented a cabin here for a weekend getaway during the covid 19 thing. The gift shop was closed and I felt the park did a nice job of limiting the amount of peeps in the park. Our cabin was outfitted very nicely and the wifi was good and we even brought along our small dog $30 for that if I remember correctly. The lake is small and you can kayak but no motor boats. We had no luck fishing there but could see several fish. The hiking trails are awesome and we enjoyed 2 of the trails with our 7 & 9 year old boys. We wanted to visit foxfire but it was closed due to the virus. The views at the giftshop are awesome and I highly recommend this park.

One of the best small, working museums for mountain life and lore. This project that started in the 90s with high school studnets, has created a wonderful, realistic setting for life in the mountains bu the early pioneers. The preservation of the cabins and buildings is truly amazing. If you come to the GA mountwins, this is a must to grasp the challenges the settlers faced. It is all outdoors and good, comfortable shoes, suitable for light hiking are a must. If it is warm, bring a bottle of water. Takes about 1 1/2 hours

Sky Valley Country Club is a semi-private facility. Memberships are available, and are required for most club social activities. The club hosts non-member golfers and group functions at our world class facilities. The Golf Course operates year round. Come, take a break to enjoy our cool summer temperatures and beautiful mountain views!
Beautiful golf course that has it all from bent grass greens & fairways, mountain vistas & elevation, #1 Georgia Trail par 3 (hole #7); water from ponds, lakes and babbling brooks.
