Bad Axe Throwing

Axe Throwing is a sport generally associated with loggers and lumberjacks, but we've brought the sport to Winnipeg (6-1393 Border Street) and turned it into a fun and exciting activity far more satisfying than miniature golf and laser tag. Bad Axe throwing is rated top-ranked activity for "Fun Activities & Games” according to TripAdvisor. It has proven popular with social gatherings along the lines of team-building exercises and birthday events. We have qualified instructors that will teach you the rules, safety precautions and basic techniques of hurling hatchets across a room, and by the end of the session participants can face off in fun games and a mini-tournament. We're the premier destination for birthday parties, corporate events, bachelor & bachelorette parties, any special occasions, or people looking for a fun outing with friends. Whether it's to pick up a new hobby or learn a new skill, our unique axe throwing experience is done in a fun & casual urban atmosphere.

Farmery Estate Brewery

Located in beautiful Neepawa Manitoba, in the heart of malt barley-growing country, Farmery Estate Brewery is Canada's first and only estate brewery! We are a brewery and a family farm, where ingredients that go into our beer such as barley and hops are grown. Visit out our 20 acre hopyards, and barley fields, and tour our brewery. Our brewery has a gift shop and vendor, where you can sample and purchase Farmery beer, and purchase Farmery apparel such as hats, shirts, hoodies, and more. Unique items are also available for purchase, such as our own flour mixes such as beer bread, flapjack and chocolate cake, made with our own milled malted and unmalted barley flour--the same barley that goes into our beer--as well as our own soap infused with our own extracted hop oil. Farmery Estate Brewery is a perfect example of "adding value": adding value to the ingredients we grow, and adding value to our local community through our events. Located conveniently on the Yellowhead Highway.

Wonderful!!! Great area to walk and see wildlife while lots of social distancing. We went there for Thanksgiving with a small grandchild. There was a well protected shelter where we had our picnic. There were even bathrooms nearby. Just one tip, take tissue since some had run out. Lovely day !!!!

Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre

A Manitoba Star Attraction! The Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre houses the largest collection of marine reptile fossils in Canada. If you like dinosaurs or sea monsters you will love "Bruce" our 43 ft (13 mtr) Mosasaur, the fiercest of all the marine reptiles. He's bigger than a T Rex and just as scary. It's because of him that the Cretaceous seas were considered the most dangerous of all time. In 2015 the Guinness Book of World Records officially recognized Bruce as the largest Mosasaur on display ANYWHERE! Join our staff on the beautiful Manitoba Escarpment in their search for Bruce's mother. All you have to do is register for one of our Fossil Dig Programs to begin your own outdoor fossil finding adventure.

Our grandsons are both excited about dinosaurs, and luckily we have a great fossil museum just over an hour away from home. Tucked away in the community sports complex, the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre is a true gem. It's located in the basement, but there is easy access by stairs, or by ramps, so great for everyone. The museum is well laid out with great displays, which are visually pleasing and very informative. Of note is the easy view for visitors of all ages. There are some interactive displays and the huge fossil displays allow visitors to get right up close. The highlight is a world record fossil of a sea creature, located locally. Another aspect is that this is an active archeological laboratory with research going on as people visit. Highly recommended and well worth the trip...A must see if you're in the area.
