The sapphire waters of Cephalonia are steeped with history. The large Greek island was home to Odysseus, the legendary king hailed in Homer’s The Odyssey. Fortunately, it won’t take you ten years to get there. Explore the enchanting caverns of the Drogarati caves, sail to Ithaca on a glass-bottomed boat or marvel at the ancient artifacts inside the Archaeological Museum of Argostoli, Cephalonia’s main town. Or just hide from it all at one of the island’s many private beach coves.

Gentilini is a small, boutique, family run winery that produces top quality, exciting and unique wines while promoting the unique flavours and aromas of the local Kefalonian varieties. We are open every year from Easter to October for tours and tastings in the relaxed, natural setting of our garden. Our aim is to focus on your enjoyment, and we want you to leave us feeling that you have experienced something very special. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff, who speak excellent English will welcome and guide you through the wines, answering any questions you may have. All our tastings include a complimentary plate with our own organic extra virgin olive oil, local cheese, grape tomatoes and fresh bread. We also offer light snacks for those who wish to linger further over a glass of wine, and bottles may be purchased in our shop.
Beautiful setting with lovely hostess Sophia with a good selection of their local wines and delicious complimentary platter to enjoy the wine tasting experience This is our second visit Highly recommended

Take your chance and get of the beaten path. Together with the donkeys ladies Grisella, Wiolätta, Dixie and Louise you can discover the beauty and history of Kefalonia the traditional way. Enjoy amazing views over the bay of Sami, evergreen valleys of the area and dive into the history of the island. Let the donkeys slow you down! No matter if you are 2 years old or 99! Waterbottles supplies and tired little legs will be carried by the donkey. Please be aware that we want to keep our donkeys healthy and save so they are not carrying kids/adults with more than 50kg/8stones.

Walk Through a Honeybee Hive with a Local Beekeeping Expert. Don a suit and head into an apiary, where you’ll see an open hive and hold a frame of live bees; conclude your visit with honey tastes. Weather permit it !!!
????????????A must to do while your in Kefalonia, you will love the vast experience of Eleni & Thanassis as they take you on a tour of the bees and tell you all about the journey they take in life, one word is fascinating, once you’ve had a cool drink and things explained, you dress in a beekeeper suit and taken to see the bees and then the laboratory to see how the honey etc is processed, then you get to taste and buy products if you wish. We felt sad to go because they make you feel so welcome. Got to be No1 attraction in Kefalonia ????????????

We got to Fteri Beach in September 2019 and parked our car right next to the goat farm. We walked around 40min to this wonderful beach where both the way and the way back of red and green points were marked. The path is also suitable for inexperienced hikers but has steep slopes and you should have sturdy shoes. So, if you‘re up for kind of an adventure, the beach is absolutely worth the walk. Otherwise, you can take the water taxi which is also absolutely worth the money.

This is the best beach we found for snorkelling in Kefalonia. The road down is very narrow and twisty, so definitely not for nervous drivers, but it’s fine for most if you take your time. It can also be accesed from Pelaki Beach by paddleboard or kayak as it’s only 500m by sea (but 15 mins by car!) Limestone & fine shingle beach, gets deep quite quickly to a depth of 6-10m across width of bay. The rocks you can see are the tips of large stacks that go straight down to the bottom. Underwater they look like mini versions of the ’drop-offs’ you might see on marine nature TV shows. Several of the rock formations have mini caves/tunnels you can swim under and through, leading to the other side or into caves in the centre of the rocks, open to sunlight from above. Perfect for providing even inexperienced snorkellers with an adventurous experience which is completely safe. The only downside is that in all the fun, I forgot to take off my wedding ring and lost it! It’s a Greek design in heavy silver (pic attached). If anyone finds it please let me know! It’s not very valuable but I would be willing to pay a reward for it’s return.

I really enjoyed my visit here, even though the Monastery was closed. I was the only person there. A really beautiful building in a magnificent setting!

To reach Kaminia Beach, you must head toward Ratzakli, on the way Katelios-Skala. You will see signs for this easily accessible beach.
My favourite beach on the island, keep Anti Samos and the banging music, myrtos and the pebbles, give me unspoiled, sandy easy to access the sea and. Fun waves to jump into, lovely little beach bar and rock pools with fish and crabs !. turtles use the beach to lay their eggs and it's abundant with flowers in August just magical
