Havana Horses offers courses and lessons in natural horsemanship, including groundwork, liberty training and natural riding (dressage and jumping). We handle, train and ride our horses without the use of force, that is, without the use of whip, spurs or bit. Are you an absolute beginner and maybe a bit anxious around horses? Havana Horses offers you the quietness and the time to introduce you to these magnificent & powerful animals. Intermediate and advanced riders can experience the exhilaration of a horse wanting to be you in liberty work; the lightness and responsiveness of a willing horse when you ride. We teach classical dressage and jumping on a loose rein. After you have taken a number of lessons to get familiar with our natural style of riding, you can join us for an exciting trail ride out through the green woods surrounding us, enjoy amazing views from the rice fields, or experience how it is to be a jockey on the race track (only for advanced riders)!
I traveled alone from the UK to Indonesia and Anna tailored a 1 week package adapted to my wishes and skills. The scenery at Havana Horses is beautiful, wild and incredibly peaceful, the homemade food is 5 stars and there’s a natural swimming pool. The Iyengar yoga teacher is amazing, lessons last for 2 hours - a proper workout - and it’s a fun moment to share. I warmly advise to opt for the accommodation on site for an immersive experience. Anna and Havedz have been receiving guests for many years and they truly are dedicated hosts, as well as their two boys! They respect your privacy and you’re always welcome to join them in their day to day and family activities. They can organise the logistics for your days out - I visited the Gedong Songo temples which remains my favorite site. As for the horses… Natural Horsemanship is a totally different experience from traditional dressage and it feels so right! Not only will you learn about horse behavior and dressage without using dominance and strength but you will work on building your own confidence. Anna and Havedz have been incredibly attentive, supportive and patient and I loved the complementarity of their approach and teaching styles. The maximum of 4 riders per lesson allows you to get all the attention and guidance that you need. The passion Anna and Havedz have for all things horsemanship, their openness, kindness and lifestyle is infectious. After a stay with them, you will also have made two more friends and I guarantee you will want to revisit.

It's like standing in Heaven since it is on Mt Lawu. Went with a driver from Yogyakarta. Possible to be a 1-day trip from Yogyakarta.

There are five sets of temples on this mountain side. They are all well worth it and you can't just call it quits after the third one. Along the way - between the 3rd/4th one - you will also be able to get up close to some bubbling craters and sulfuric vents. They are not dangerous, just be smart about it. After the fifth temple, there is also a viewing station to get a proper vista of the town below and the mountains above you (with temples mixed in between). This is definitely worth the 2/3 minute trudge - which, after making it past temple 5 in the hear, you'll question if you should.

Selogriyo temple is a village's Hindu temple situated on the foot of Sumbing Mountain, Windusari village. It is a nice area to visit by a walk through the village and rice fields. You may explore and feel the real Javanese atmosphere and environment.
If you have more time, this is another site which optional to visit, take about an hour or less to explore and hike along the rich country side - passing lots of paddy field, children playing football, climbing the tamarind tree... if you lucky may stumble some water buffalo too. Recommend for those who seek and wants to know the life hood of local village and highest point is restore old temple. The view overlooking the rolling hills and terrace of rice field is very captivating.

The location above the Dieng theater building has a very nice view. The road to get to the top is relatively good although uphill. Every few steps there is a good point for selfies.

One of Southeast Asia's most interesting temples is unique in design and decoration.
Sukuh is one of several temples built on the northwest slopes of Mount Lawu in the 15th century. By this time, Javanese religion and art had diverged from Indian precepts that had been so influential on temples styles during the 8th–10th centuries. This was the last significant area of temple building in Java before the island's courts were converted to Islam in the 16th century. It is difficult for historians to interpret the significance of these antiquities due to the temple's distinctiveness and the lack of records of Javanese ceremonies and beliefs of the era. #ShivaBuddha #Tantra

I am Yoga Efendi, a Traveler from Yogyakarta. Telaga Warna is a natural wonder in Dieng Plateau, Java Island - Indonesia. There are some best location to see this lake but I just give you my favourite spot, Batu Ratapan Angin. This spot is special coz you will see two different colors from the Giant Volcano rock. I recommend you to hire a guide in Dieng.
