A hidden gem on the island of Brač! Vinarija Senjkovic just hosted our party of six adults to an amazing 12 course lunch...or I should say...gastronomic adventure, paired with 8 of their outstanding wine selections. Sasha, the vintner, and his wife Magdalena were perfect hosts...very accommodating (we were late for our reservation due to a late taxi), attentive, spoke excellent English and offered wonderful explanations of both the food and wine. Magdalena prepared beautiful, innovative takes on traditional Dalmatian foods with presentations and taste combinations that would rival any Michelin starred restaurant. The wines were some of the best we had during our stay in Croatia and several were vintages not available publicly. The pours were generous and often repeated side by side for comparison with a similar wine style. The setting is very pretty and intimate as they only offer two seatings for lunch at a time. A definite must if you are visiting the island of Brač...just make sure that you make a reservation well in advance! Thank you for a truly wonderful afternoon Vinarija Senjkovic!

Two friends and I planned this very last minute but it turned out to be a real highlight for us. Due to the current situation we were fortunate enough to have the whole place to ourselves but Sadan, the owner made just as much if not more of an effort to make this an amazing experience for us. The view from his first tasting room is incredible and the wine was free flowing while he shared facts about his craft and his life stories which were fascinating. You could tell he was passionate about wine! We ended up staying late talking, enjoying wine (one might say too much as it was as much as you can drink) and lovely cheese, ham and bread to go with it! Sehr empfehlenswert.

Almost hidden in the neverending string of various beach bars, rent-a-whatevers and other things that dot the coastline around the town of Hvar, the place can only be described as a Mediterranean beer garden, combining the beer made by the owners themselves - and Anna is an excellent brewer - with traditional snacks and, here and there, dishes. The APA made by them was flawless and in very good shape, something you do NOT run into frequently while island hopping, and the other taps were filled by classically nice Zmajska Pivovara beers, as this "semi-"season didn't give them impetus enough to brew more different things. The prices are as expected when it comes to Hvar, but unlike a lot of places (when it comes to beer), you get what you pay for! Definitely a must-visit if you're in Hvar - and if you're in, say, Amphora, and love beer, there's no excuse not to go here!

We had such an amazing time visiting Winery Kovac. Caity and I were picked up, along with 10 others, in Split promptly at 6pm. When we arrived we walked down to a beautiful terrace overlooking Split / grape vines / olive trees (....and you could see the sea too!!) We tasted a fantastic Rosé and noshed on some cheese while we heard amazing stories from Anton (the owner) all about the history of wine in the region and the story of the Zinfandel grape. Then you are driven down to Antons villa for some more educating, drinking, and eating. It was such an amazing evening and one of the best wine tours I have ever experienced.

We enjoyed a good up hill walk here and amazing views. The park needs a little clean up, but it was definitely one of the best things we did when in Split.
