Válega church is a true masterpiece of tile painting art and surely one of the remarkable churches in Portugal! On sunset the church facade, facing west, is particularly beautiful, bathed by sunlight. A true golden temple that sparkles with its amazing tiles of many colours. The patronage of the church belonged to private owners until 1150. Válega is located 6,5 km away from the city of Ovar and it sure deserves a visit!
It's a not that known gem in the country. Beautifully tiled church in a tiny village and the interior is also imponent with painted walls, wooden ceiling and the cemetery adjacent to it is also an "attraction".

sterna.pt is a company dedicated to Nature Tourism and whose goal is to show the large biodiversity present in the Ria de Aveiro, from the Ria itself. This tour is only possible by navigating through the canals of this vast delta of the river Vouga. In order to minimize the impact in this sensitive ecosystem. In order to reduce the aforementioned environmental impact we chose non polluting, silent vessels without CO2 emissions and powered entirely by sunlight. Boat tours.

The Alianca Underground Museum is an exhibition space, displayed along the traditional wine cellars of Alianca Vinhos de Portugal. Including eight private collections, the public has access to diverse artefacts from the fields of archeology, ethnography, mineralogy, paleontology as well as ceramic tiles and tins covering millions of years of history. Being part of the great universe of the Berardo Collection, these collections are the result of the constant effort of Jose Berardo in collecting and caring for objects of scientific, artistic, historical and sentimental importance.
One of the most astonishing museum ever seen!!! Impressive colection of african art; minerals, ceramics; everything underground, of course! Not to be missed!

Very nice museum. We learned so much and understood very well the history of the portuguese people relation with codfish. The codfish aquarium is simple but great. One can learn also about history on boats and fishing boats from Aveiro and Portugal. I recommend visiting.

The region is beautiful to visit and the Geopark Center in Arouca, very modern and informative, with enthusiastic and helpful staff. Good place to get started, since they explain the "birth-giving" stones and hand out maps of the area and of the Paiva Walkways. Definitely check it out!

The Caves São Domingos have been producing sparkling wines, old spirits, pomace spirits, Bairrada and Dão wines since 1937. Its cellars lodge more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, large thousands of wine bottles and hundreds of french oak barrels for the famous wine derived spirits. The São Domingos pomace spirit, distilled in the company's own alembics, continues to lead the market with its everlasting quality. Under the aegis of the name São Domingos other brands are emerging, such as "Lopo de Freitas", "Elpídio", "Quinta de S. Lourenço" and more recently "Volúpia", a white wine that has been surprising consumers as well as opinion makers. Oenotourism is another good bet and every year thousands of visitors are dazzled by the beauty of the galleries excavated in the rock, the millions of bottles, and the wine shop, a museum with a tasting room. We are a close partner in the Rota da Bairrada project.
