I love the Grillhouse Sandton but the service outside on the deck on a Friday evening is shocking. The place is packed and people are eager to spend but canât find any waiters. They donât seem to have sections or tables they are assigned to and there are not nearly enough of them. When you catch a different waiter and order, nothing happens. If you order from a manager, nothing happens. The San Bar up the hill from you has always been like this and thatâs why people donât like going there. You need to fix this, guys. Once again outstanding experience. Vasco's did not disappoint us. I had fish (a silver-side something fish) and after spending a few years in Mozambique with the great variety of fresh fish and great restaurants, I was blown away with how fresh, tasty, moist, beautifully cooked and presented on a bed of vegetables mixed with baby potatoes done in the oven.....................wow so good. My partner had duck (we had this before) and it was just as amazing. I don't often go out of my way to promote restaurants but Vasco's gets 10 out of 10.

We ventured north to try something different and were pleasantly surprised by this delightful gem. The menu offered a lot of variety at reasonable prices and the servings were reasonably sized. You can enjoy brunch type dishes for lunch and the gourmet burgers were very good.Wine & beer is reasonably priced.Our waitress was very helpful with her choices and all four of us approved of her input. Easy parking, good service, interesting menu, great food and reasonably priced means that the owners have a winning formula,Definitely worth a visit.

Best prawns I've had since I moved from Cape Town, meaty, well spiced, "brains" /sweet spot sweet and succulent. Beautiful. Service top notch and the owner Rob is a well fixed fixture. Wine list extensive. Setting calm and relaxed. Not much I can fault on, even the prices, which are exorbitant but somehow justified. From one restaurateur to the next, well done.

This old dame never disappoints. There is certainly a reason they have been around for so long. Maintaining the charm of a 60s/70s steakhouse. The waiting staff to management radiate old school warm, family hospitality. The food is certainly better than most fancy, trendy steakhouses in JHB. Their ribs are the star of the show. Ribs you will be craving soon after your 1st visit. Even their side dishes are pure comfort. If you feel like a starter before the gigantic rib portion, the prawn cocktail took me on a stroll down memory lane. Simple but delicious. The desserts will ring a few bells too! Will be back again and again. Saul, our waiter, was a gem. Donât know why all restaurants cannot maintain this kind of service and passion amongst staff. Winning formula.

At first I was put off by the extensive menu but was quickly charmed by the attentive professional staff. And then the food started coming out - everything was superb.The Peri-Peri Chicken Liver appetizer is a must as is the grilled calamari. We shard and tasted entree items from a Chicken Curry to Barramundi fish with vegetables to Lamb Chops and Salmon Poke Bowl - each was delicious The only reason Iâm not giving it 5 stars is that the food all came out too quickly. Before we could finish appetizers the entrees were arriving and it felt rushed. An interesting problem in South Africa where many restaurants are known for poor and slow service.....The place has a great vibe and is packed or a reason - they deliver good food at a great price!
