This is now under new owners and the set up is very attractive, and the food very good. They offer traditionally roasted meat, cooked very slowly on a frame that surrounds a fire pit - absolutely delicious! Prices were reasonable, service attentive but not intrusive and the wine was good. We recommend you try here.

Lovely setting overlooking Hersonnisis. We arrived at 7:30 and it was great seeing the view change as it got darkFood was excellent. I had the most tender lamb in my kleftico whilst my husband had a great stuffed chicken dish. Washed down with half a litre of house wine. Complementary cake with ice cream and of course raki to round off a lovely meal. Cost â¬35 which we felt was very reasonable On the downside it took over an hour for our food to come and there were too many people smoking which was very unpleasant. I appreciate what is acceptable in Greece is different than in other countries but to cater for all their customers a designated area for smokers could easily be provided in a place of this size.

a cafe snack bar located in the picturesque village of Koutouloufari next to a little church. the surroundings are traditional. Indeed a peaceful and quiet village away from the hustle and bustle of the main road of Hersonissos. Everybody welcome
This little cafe and bar is in a lovely location and has a good atmosphere especially in the evenings. We had a hamburger and fries before our journey home. The burger was surprisingly good.We would certainly go there again next time we visit this delightful village.

We ate here one evening during our recent holiday in Koutouloufari. My husband had Sea Bass which was beautifully cooked and presented. The house wine is good. Prices are slightly higher - presumably because it is fresh fish. A small taverna but friendly and welcoming.

At Koutouloufari in Hersonissos, in this beautiful traditional village, the Alchemist awaits you. Stone, wood, light, and a green scenery blend to form a casual decor. Enjoy selected dishes of the Cretan cuisine. Grilled meat, a wide variety of appetizers
if you want great service, great staff and good food this is the one to be in. the calamari in pesto for starter is really nice and my main i had seafood again which was also lovely. Greek music is played in the background which add to the ambience. definatley would vivit again as they did not disappoint

Everything about this place is top quality. The service, the ambience, the decor and especially the food. This restaurant is so good we ate there four times in ten days. The menu is interesting and not the run of the mill you can sometimes get. Instead of doing everything it does fewer things but to a very high standard and the food is beautifully presented. OK so you might spend a few euros more, but in terms of vfm this restaurant is just superb. The choice of puddings is on par with high end restaurants back in the UK. I would visit a restaurant of this standard anywhere in Europe. It really is top class

Mediterranean restaurant with a fine selection of mostly local wines and drinks. All of the products that are cooked, are carefully selected and bought by the hotel owner and former restaurant chef who cooked for 17 years.
Perfect food, we had fish and meat and it was all very delicious and really goodlooking. You see it was al fresh. The staff and Kate are also perfect. We share a cheese cake together, really good! In front you sit at the street, at the back front you have a good view at the sea. We totally recommend this restaurant!!

All I can say is if you are anywhere near Koutouloufari you MUST visit the Trap for great cocktails, food, and amazing service from Andreas and his colleague (wish I knew his name!). They are so hospitable, everyone has a good time, and not just because of the sweet treats and raki they serve ! I had the best gyros of the holiday here. They use local herbs in the cocktails. Itâs just fab and I canât wait to go again.

Ambrosia The Food of the Gods!
This excellent restaurant/taverna has been around for years, and never disappoints. The seafood dishes are fresh from the Med and extremely well prepared. Plus, the local traditional Cretan dishes are among the finest I've ever tasted. Niko, the host, welcomes you with a truly warm greeting and the service is fast, friendly and efficient.
