The Valley course meanders through forest, borders lakes, and traverses creeks and rivers throughout its 18 holes, while offering spectacular views of Vancouver Island's beautiful landscape. In contrast to the existing Mountain course, the par 71 Valley course measures 6807 yards from the Golden Bear tees - around 400 yards shorter than its sibling. Factor in elevated tee boxes, more generous fairway widths, fewer bunkers and larger greens and the Valley course will likely be considered a 'friendlier' version of the original. Rolling through terrain at elevations of between 300 and 500 feet above sea level, there is still plenty of challenge, and many holes that could be considered the signature hole.
We received a lesson from Debbie at the start of our first round. It was an hour long lesson and we hit a lot of balls. She was extremely knowledgeable and fun to work with. We took away a lot from the lesson and noticed an improvement in our game, especially the second time we visited. The staff in the pro shop were awesome! So friendly and accommodating. We did not stay in this hotel, but had no problems getting tee times on a nice warm weekend. The course itself was breathtaking. So well maintained, and found quite challenging as we are beginners. The carts run on gps system which I found was very handy. We ended up enjoying our time here so much the first time, that we cancelled our tee time at Cordova bay to play another one here during our vacation. Please note: this course does not have a liquor license! So we spent the first round very thirsty and hungry as there was no snack/beverage cart. The second time were went we made sure to pack our own beverages and snacks, and ended up seeing a very friendly cart girl who offered us some smoothies and snacks, but again, no alcohol beverages. Will definitely be back

Victoria’s newest public golf course is just a short drive from downtown Victoria. We're an 18 hole championship golf course that is the perfect test for all golfers. The course is routed through rolling hills with stunning viewpoints and punishing dropoffs. Island Golfer Magazine says we have “some of the best vistas seen anywhere on any golf course as well as some of the best looking holes on Vancouver Island.” We agree! Course par: 71 Length: 6,603 yards.
What a very challenging and great scenic course! We really enjoyed our time here today! THANKS! And I shot very well considering I have never played here before! 1st times are sometimes just great as a newbie not knowing how tough the greens were to read and etc. I did best I could and felt good all day on the challenge level against me. Our playing partners paired up with us were nice folks too. Made for a nice day had! I managed 3 pars in a row the last 3 holes too. Staff...attentive and friendly. My breakfast before round was good quality and tasty and not over pricey! 4.5 of 5 stars easily! In Victoria not that often so this made for a nice choice and I took some great pics! Great memories made. Thanks! Nol, Kelowna, BC (Aug 5/20)

Cordova Bay Golf Course is a full service facility offering a relaxed atmosphere, an 18 hole championship golf course, a spectacular 9-hole par 3 golf course, Victoria's best practice facility and the legendary Bill Mattick's restaurant. We invite you to join us for golf, dinner and fun.
Each time I play Cordova Bay golf course I enjoy it even more. The fairways are like green carpets and the bunkers have plenty of sand! But it is the challenging layout that makes for an enjoyable round. The water features meander through the golf course in an unobtrusive way but need to be treated with respect. A real gem!

The Victoria Golf Club, founded in 1893, is the oldest course in Canada on its original location, and second oldest in North America. The course began as 14 holes but quickly expanded to 18 in 1895. There have been at least three different lay-outs - the one played today was finalized in the mid-1920s (after a decision in 1923 to end the practice of hitting tee shots on two holes across the ever-busier Beach Drive). Our stately Clubhouse, completed in 1928, is a registered Canadian Historic Place and has undergone a number of expansions and renovations (including the most recent in 1993) and provides a grand and comfortable venue to begin your own memories. When you walk through this storied building you'll be reminded of a rich history of golf, companionship and community that spans over generations. Perhaps one of the more obscure yet heartwarming examples is a series of photos of a foursome on the course, taken annually on the same date over five decades. Golfing Legends For more than a century, famous names have graced our course, including golfing greats Harry Vardon, Byron Nelson, Joyce Wethered, Ben Hogan, Al Geiberger, Pat Bradley, George Knudson, Sam Snead, Dawn Coe Jones and Johnny Miller just to mention a few. Numerous celebrities, like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Wayne Gretzky, Pamela Anderson and Kiefer Sutherland have also been drawn to the seaside links through the years, not only to play but also in support of charitable causes. History continues to be made in the annual Victoria and Seattle GC inter-club, a home and home friendly that is the oldest international golf tournament in North America (since 1895). The Seniors North West Championship, representing players of various levels from the U.S Pacific northwest, British Columbia and Alberta, continues to be hosted by VGC for eighty plus years now.

We stayed at an Air Bnb for the past 2 weeks down the street from the Golf Course, only a few houses away. There is a chip trail that surrounds the golf course with beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains. A lovely spot to get away for some fresh air and walks. The course is not open at this time because of the coronavirus but we will return to this Air Bnb as it is only a few minutes to walk across the course to the clubhouse. I can't wait to start golfing.
