With much compassion for nature and the gentle hills of the Mühlviertel Quarter, an 18-hole as well as a 9-hole course was created in the Bohemian Forest area of the tri-border region Upper Austria-Bavaria-Czech Republic in the early 1990s. The fairways with ponds, shrubs and old trees, surrounded by hedges and forests, and the greens protected by sand and grass bunkers promise a sophisticated golf experience. The grass of the fairways is cut to great width thus it is easy to get back on the course even after a bad shot. A great advantage of the Golfpark Böhmerwald are the short ways between the individual lanes and from the car park to the clubhouse and the tees. Thus the focus is on golf sport and not on walking for miles between the individual lanes. There are also no electricity pylons and houses spoiling the view and, apart from the occasional tractor driving past, there is no traffic noise. Another bonus is that the Golfpark Böhmerwald is, apart from a few exceptions, not closed for tournaments at the weekend. Thus golfers who often only have time at the weekend can book their desired tee off times and can enjoy their round of golf without being pressed for time. The spacious practising facilities like the driving range with roofed teeing grounds, 2 putting greens, chipping and pitch area not only invite to learn how to golf but also to practise the sport. Many courses for beginners to gain the PE and TE and lessons for the advanced are available. Small specials along the way: The Golfpark Böhmerwald is dedicated to the subject "herbs". Informing the golfers about their effects, medicinal herbs and other special plants are presented and described on the individual lanes. Various herbs are used in the dishes which can be enjoyed at the restaurant after a round of golf. The restaurant offers very special culinary delights from the cuisine of the Bohemian Forest but a real must is the beer of Austria's oldest monastery brewery in the neighbouring village of Aigen-Schlägl.
