This excellent course, with some long par 4s, has hosted the Portuguese Open several times and features the par 3, 15th hole with nothing between the tee and green but water.
Loved staying here great resort. Beautiful surroundings. Young family can use pool and Creche facilities and mom and dads get to relax at the spa.

No.Holes: 18 PAR: 73 Length: 6254 m Slope Rating: 138 Architect: Frank Pennink Location: Vilamoura, Algarve In the heart of Vilamoura lies the Grande Dame of Algarve courses, The Old Course Golf Club. As one of the first-established layouts in the region, the Frank Pennink-design is well regarded throughout the golfing world. Although it is but a mere 20-minute drive from Faro Airport, the course finds itself situated amongst impressive pine trees and set out over gently undulating terrain. There can be no argument that, for all who are lucky enough to play here, this is a golf course that lives long in the memory.
Played in October as a group of 8. Course was incredibly quiet due to covid so pretty much had the course to ourselves. It’s a stunning track lined with pine trees and the elevations make for some amazing views, particularly against a backdrop of clear blue skies. Course was generally in good conditions although a few fairways had been sanded. Buggies had to be kept on cart paths so the round took almost 5 hours as you may have to walk across the other side of the fairways with a variety of clubs if out of position. This did not cause a problem to our group due to how quiet the course was, but can imagine this could be more of an issue in busier times. A fairer test for the average golfer than the brutal Victoria Course and a most enjoyable day.

Located within a nature reserve and just ten minutes from Lagos, Espiche Golf is an eco-resort which has been perfectly integrated into the surrounding natural environment and offers a unique and authentic experience in the western Algarve.
We visited the club twice and have added it to my list of favorites. Very well maintained course and nice clubhouse with friendly personnel. Great course in natural environment. Lack of buildings along the fairways. Out in the open! My first hole in one ever on hole 7 made me very happy as well.

One of the early algarve courses that has stood the test of time very well. A little over developed but some of the villa are as breathtaking as the course.

Today (Sunday) I booked online for 9 holes starting at 11:20. I was a bit early, went to the driving range, was there for half an hour, reported back to reception where they said I could start earlier. So I started at 10. A beautiful special course with 3 par 5, 3 par 4 and 3 par 3. Aldo the second nine holes are like that. Signature of Seve Ballesteros. A fine course, pretty challenging, a lot of water, wonderful greens and ok fairways. I enjoyed if a lot and hope to be back again here one day.

No.Holes: 18 PAR: 72 Length: 6121 m Slope Rating: 129 Architect: Joseph Lee Location: Vilamoura, Algarve The Laguna Golf Course has earned a reputation as being a somewhat unique offering within the Vilamoura golf portfolio. While its many water hazards and few trees set it apart, it truly finds its individuality in the number of holes which convey characteristics of a traditional links layout. American golf course architect Joseph Lee was given the responsibility for setting out the Laguna Golf Course over low-lying coastal terrain, and in this setting was able to establish 18 holes which offer a wide variety of playing conditions. The course has been continually improved since the first ball was struck in 1990, although it retains all of the appeal of a modern test of golf, through which the strategic positioning of bunkers and a number of water obstacles demand accuracy of play.
Played this course in October with our society. Great course in excellent condition. Greens really good and consistent. Clubhouse facilities top notch. Food a bit pricey for what you get but hey ho. Will definitely return.
