FootGolf is a dynamic new sport, introduced to Ireland in 2013. The idea is simple: get the football into the hole in as few kicks as possible! It is an ideal mix – the technique of football coupled with the skill of golf. FootGolf is perfect for all ages as it can be taken at any pace, making it ideal for the whole family!

We visited this beautiful resort in mid November. The rooms, views & grounds are breathtaking ..... The staff goes above & beyond to ensure your stay is nothing less than 5 Star Plus! John Walsh the manager of guest services was very helpful, polite & engaging. Our room had a beautiful view of the river & golf course surroundings.. Our room was maintained in outstanding manner by cleaning staff! All of the restaurants are outstanding both in service & food. Bojan the manager at the Legends Restaurant went above & beyond to ensure our dinner & Service was outstanding. Make sure you visit the Straffan Inn & meet the very friendly & outgoing Manager Enda. The local clientele were very friendly & engaging. Just 35 minutes outside of Dublin ... this is a destination not to be missed.

Conveniently located less than 30 minutes from Dublin, this superb 18 hole USGA specification championship golf course is the gem of the Ryder Cup countryside. Set in beautiful surroundings with the river Liffey bordering a number of holes and the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains forming its’ backdrop. Using the natural landscape to its fullest, this 150 acre course has many interesting hazards making it a challenge for golfers of all levels. Cleverly designed by local PGA professional, Tommy Halpin, the front 9 form the boundary of the course and completely enclose the back 9. The course is unusual in that it opens with two par 5’s, the first of which is a formidable 604 yards, the second a gentler 502 yards. The signature par 3 17th plays from tee to green across water. The course concludes with another par 5 with the three-tiered green flanked by a pair of shamrock shaped bunkers. At 7063 yards, this par 73, championship course brings great variety and challenge to every round of golf
We at Kildare Golf Society had our Presidents outing on Friday 19th July at Millicent Golf course. From our arrival to departure the atmosphere was welcoming and cordial. The course - a real test of golf - was in perfect condition. The quality of the course was equaled or surpassed by the meal that was served later. Thanks to the boys in the pro shop and a special to thanks to Anita and her staff. A golf course with a great future. Joe Doyle President of Kildare GAA Golf Society.

Hands down it would take place here... OMG! This late Nineteenth-Century home/manor [I think 1870] where gorgeous barley describes its stunning beauty... grounds and gardens I think about one thousand acres meticulously maintained, finding myself roaming around more than once. Let me back up, I was one of eighty guests invited to a very hush, hush wedding... even more impressive, I was invited to spend the night in the manor on the estate. I say more impressive because the manor only has twenty rooms, and NO opportunity to book/reserve a room, it's by invitation only, from the wedding couple... now that's an impressive way to tell someone you love and cherish their friendship... who's the VIP now. Every detail of the two day wedding was smooth as silk, and every guest I met was more lovelier then the last, pure joy and happiness, which makes the entire experience that more memorable. Day one started with a shot-gun golf outing, and thinking my nine handicap would be impressive to my three fellow golfers... silly, silly me, wrong, wrong, wrong, after two holes I just knew I'd be buying at the turn! [kidding] After golf was lunch at the club house, and everything I ordered was yum, yum yummy, and quite healthy too, and an abundant supply of adult beverage options. After lunch it was time to get into my room and clean up a bit before taking a stroll around the grounds... oh, the eighteen hole championship course is gorgeous and at times kicked my [booty] trees everywhere, streams and ponds, bridges and meticulously maintained greens. The manor is simply stunning, and my room was beautiful, furnishings luxurious, bathroom large and spotless, nice amenities, fluffy plush towels and big huge four poster bed fit for a king. My stroll was peaceful and exactly what was needed to center me before the evenings festivities, I knew this was going to be a wedding to remember! [it was] Sadly, but understandable... phones and cameras were not permitted and taken from all guests, when we arrived, so the few photos I have will not allow you to see just how gorgeous this place really is... thankfully guest's graciously received personal photo albums by mail a month after. So, the night was magical, dinner delicious, cake stunning and amazing, atmosphere beyond imaginable, music fantastic, staff member's over the top gracious, warm, attentive, friendly and professional. I will never forget my dear friend allowing me to be apart of this once in a lifetime adventure with her on such a memorable occasion. Enjoy every adventure ahead of you and the diversity our planet offers
