The Bay of Plenty (Māori: Te Moana-a-Toi) is a large bight in the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east, a wide stretch of some 259 km of open coastline. The Bay of Plenty Region is situated around this body of water, also incorporating several large islands in the bay. The bay was named by James Cook after he noticed the abundant food supplies at several Māori villages there, in stark contrast to the earlier observations he had made in Poverty Bay.

Ohope International Golf Club is rated one of the top links courses in New Zealand. No matter how bad the golf is, the magnificent views from the course make up for any bad golf. Whether it be watching the active volcanic, White Island smokin', the scenic coastline visible all the way to East Cape, or watching the kayaks racing in the Ohope Harbour. Imagine the scenery when having your wedding reception at the club, the views would only be surpassed by the beautiful bride. Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries or just a social function, we can cater for them all. For any inquiry regarding golf, social functions, or just having a quiet social beverage, contact any one of our team at the club. Ohope has won the Best Beach award in New Zealand for 2013 and also received the award for the most sunniest days in New Zealand 2013 (third year in a row).
Links course with great views to harbour and to the sea. Greens in good shape. Fairways challenging with tough lies and some tight lines. Views from clubhouse fantastic. Often used as a wedding venue

Established in 1971, the Omanu Golf Club has built a reputation as the "Bays Best Golfing Experience" and offers a great golfing experience to its members and visitors alike The golf course is of a very high standard and would best be described as parkland. The fairways are mostly flat with some slight undulation and the rough is cut to a consistent length which provides a challenge for the better golfer but remains playable for all levels. The Café, Bar and Proshop operate 7 days a week and there is space for visitors almost everyday.
Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to this golf course. Considering the lack of rain the fairways were in great condition. Enjoyed the layout. Friendly pro shop. Good looking clubhouse. Recommended
