The Māori call Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau — a maiden desired by 100 lovers,
and a valuable territory fought over for centuries for its fertile land and
natural harbors on the Pacific Ocean (to the east) and Tasman Sea (to the
west). Today, it’s New Zealand’s largest city: A vibrant and diverse place
where nature and urban life go hand-in- hand, with 48 volcanic cones, more
than 50 islands, and 29,000 km of coastline and beaches just minutes away
from the arts and shopping of the central city.

Golf Warehouse Ellerslie is New Zealand's Premier Golf practice destination, featuring a fully 30 automated driving range bays including the latest Track Tee Technology, a members area including five short game greens and a 40m wide grass range tee, a 9 hole Pitch and Putt Par 3 Golf Course ranging from 80m to 135m holes and the Institute of Golf all under the one location.
Great way to give the wife a break from the kids and spend some time laughing with the kids with some of the shocking golf shots dad did, great way to get the teenage son away from the screen glued to his face and do something fun and real, even my young fella could find a club suited to his size. He'll probably be the best player out of all of us after a few more visits

Gulf Harbour Country Club enjoys a reputation as one of the premier golf clubs in New Zealand, with an outstanding championship course. Located on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, less than an hour’s drive from Auckland’s CBD, it is home to an 18-hole gem designed by the famous course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Despite its relatively tender years, the layout of the course has twice played host to the New Zealand Open. Come and enjoy the thrill of playing the spectacular cliff-top course with some fantastic vistas of the Auckland area. The back nine, the 12th hole provides fantastic views looking back towards Auckland city with views all down the North Shore. We have extensive practice facilities allowing golfers to loosen off before playing with a Putting and Chipping Greens, Pitching Green and a 250-metre Driving Range. The clubhouse experience is equally rewarding: the club has a warm, friendly atmosphere ensuring visitors will feel instantly at home.
How many times am I going to golf in New Zealand with my son? This may have been my one chance, so I went for the best place I could find. Add rental clubs to the greens fees for a Friday morning round, and it came in just under $400 us (yikes, but okay). I think kiwis get a much better rate, especially if they are affiliated with club. We LOVED it! We took the ferry from the Auckland viaduct, and the course arranged for our ride to the course. What a cool way to get to the course! The views were insane, and we never had to wait to hit our shots, even though we were a twosome. The rough is crazy. If you hit one wide, don't even bother. Even if you see exactly where it went in, chances are less than 50/50 that you'll find it. Don't worry, though, it's not so hard that you won't have fun. It's great.
