When the morning light washes over the overgrown temples and ruins of Angkor Wat, a simple Siem Reap sunrise becomes a profound event. The ancient structures are contained within one of the largest religious complexes in the world. The complex and the 12th century Angkor Thom royal city are considered the main reasons to visit Siem Reap. Get a lesson in national history at the Cambodian Cultural Village, and a lesson in bargaining at the Angkor Night Market, a bonanza of shopping stalls, food vendors, and bars.

Nested into the heart of Siem Reap, in a relaxed and peaceful environment, Guided by our deaf employees, learn the art of lacquer crafts and Khmer words in sign language.
Visiting Cambolac's workshop in Siem Reap was quite emotional for me, having in mind that you are being welcomed from the door and guided through the manual souvenirs production process by a deaf and hearing-impaired employee. Moreover, company's mission is to hire as many such people and all employees I saw working were facing same physical inconvenience. With completely missing government social system, I find efforts of social enterprises crucial for life of ppl in need and I think it is a great opportunity for tourists to support such cause while anyway shopping souvenirs. Plus is they have shops at different locations.

Sombai is a sweet home-made liqueur from Siem Reap. Sombai bottles are painted and decorated by hand, making each of them a unique piece and an amazing souvenir. We also have a non-alcoholic range of products under the brand name "Joe's" including quality spices, aromatised sea salts, peppers and alcoholic jams. You can come for a "workshopping" including a free tasting, visit of the workshop and some shopping every day from 8am to 8pm. The Workshop is open daily. Otherwise, we are available for free tasting and for retail sale at our stalls at the Made in Cambodia Market (King's Road) every day from noon to 10pm.
We had an interesting tour and fun tasting adventure at Sombai, and I recommend visiting to pick up some unique local produce to enjoy or give as gifts. The short tour of the rice wine infusing upstairs is interesting, and you can see the large range of handpainted art on bottles as well as the artists in the process of handpainting them. By the time you've seen and heard about the different infusing combinations, you'll be wanting to find out what they taste like. After heading back downstairs, you take a seat and are served a small tasting of each rice wine, as well as some Kampot pepper infused liqueurs and alcoholic jams. Everything is delicious and uniquely Cambodian. While the jams are 'alcoholic' they won't get you drunk, but the flavours are amazing. Recommend buying the sample pack of 4 of $9...they make a perfect gift, but also a few of them will be perfect to pair with blue or goats cheese in a platter. This is a really unique Cambodian experience with something special to take home. Recommend for anyone!

Louise Loubatieres lifestyle boutique offers a mix of fashion and home accessories, from lacquerware to textiles, scarves, cushions, throws, art, furniture and much more...
Louise Loubatieres is an expat run shop in the newly cool Kandal village area of Siem Reap. Its wares are curated by French expat, Louise and her Cambodian partner, who have brilliantly put together a small emporium combining western interior desires with local and regional crafts. The soft furnishing range includes cushions of all sizes combining raw silk and indigenous woven textures which is the house specialty and very much desirous. There are quirky items such as the string of hand embroidered fish with shells and bells that are also individual to the shop and simply delightful. Scarves, costume jewellery are all of quality and taste. Yes some of the tableware stock I saw in Laos and I stumbled across the dresses in Chatuchak markets in Bangkok (Louise was right, they only make one size), but thats not really the point because Louise has done the legwork for you and if you are on limited time for your trip this is the place to go. I am very happy with my purchases and will enjoy them for many years to come. If the markets do not satisfy visit Louise Loubatieres.

All our beads are hand rolled & glazed in Siem Reap Cambodia by local Khmer women & men. Claycult Cambodia beads & jewellery... something from the heart of this mystic land.
I have only been to their shop at the airport. Great selection, and such a wonderful souvenir. Bought several for gifts, and everyone loves them. A lot of fun to wear!

I have been in Siem Reap for four weeks and wanted to support local designers and not just buy the cheap elephant pants that I would never wear again when I return home. I found this little boutique on trip advisor and it was such a nice experience. I was served by Noch and she was such a delightful young lady who was incredibly helpful without being in the least bit pushy and I enjoyed chatting with her. A great little business that supports local staff not only by paying them well but also to develop English and business skills. I would recommend a visit.
