This place is a must visit when you are in Hong Kong. It caters to a less touristy crowed and features many artistic & fashionable boutiques. Here you can find a range of tasteful clothing, handmade jewelry, modern art, & a variety of home decor. This is a great place to buy tasteful souvenirs. PMQ is walkable from Hollywood Road & is easily accessible. This building has two major buildings connected by the ground level & a 4th floor park. You can spend hours here wandering through all the various boutiques. We ended up purchasing beautiful handmade trays, candles, framed art & glassware for our home. If you need a mid-day drink, they also have a sake shop with sake tastings offered! In addition to that, they have restaurants located on the ground & basement floor. They also have numerous bakeries and coffee shops throughout PMQ

The Cat Street Market is just a little below some of the nice fine art establishments on Hollywood Road. Find your way to the Man Mo Temple and head down the stairs just across the street to Upper Lascar Road/Cat Street - that's the east end of the Cat Street Market. While this isn't the place for lanterns or clothing, it's a great place for souvenirs that range from small Chinese zodiac carvings all the way up to very high end porcelain and jade carvings. We regularly bring back small carvings from our trips and were looking for something with a little more scale. I particularly recommend Tom Antiques Co at the far west end of Cat Street (on the north side) - he's one of the last two or three stores. Tommy Ko is a very entertaining man willing to spend a lot of time with you just educating you about the carvings in his shop. In the end, we purchased a medium-sized (11in/28cm x 7.5in/19cm) jade carving of Pi Xiu (or Pi Yao) for around HK$1,500. There are lot of options along Cat Street (and we visited many) so you can get a reasonably good idea of a "fair" price for what you're looking for. (I'm not an expert by any means) Tommy spent a lot of time talking with us about the various carvings and Feng Shui creatures and helping us to appreciate the differences in the wide range of carvings he carries. We would have paid more for just that. We also bought some small wood carvings of our birth-year Zodiac creatures next door for HK$20 each.
