Salty Girls Gift Shop

This gift shop is Awesome! They sell Salty Dawg shirts and sweaters if you don't want to go in the Saloon to buy them as well as TONS of other stuff. This was one of my favorite gift shops I visited and I went to about 14 different towns in Alaska and over 2,000 miles of road tripping. They even have kids sizes, which a lot of gift shops did not offer. The staff made sure everyone who entered wore a mask and they never let in more than 10 people at a time for covid safety precautions. It didn't take long for the line to move though for us to get to go in, and it was worth the wait. Great store, Friendly staff!

We used Cole Point several years ago to ship our Halibut to PA. This time was no different. They told us they would be shipping it by FedEx on Tuesday for a Wednesday delivery. On Friday my mom got a call (it was shipping to her house) that there had been a hiccup with FedEx and the fish was safe in their freezer and would ship Thursday for a Friday delivery. It was very considerate of them to call and the fish arrived as promised still frozen solid! Thank you Cole Point!

A designer store for the outdoors. Most things in the shop is on the expensive end however the high prices are justified with the quality of the items. It's a great place to get outdoor gear and clothing that will stand the test of time. I was able to get a Arc'teryx jacket thats usually retailed around $350 on sale fo $120 and I absolutely love it. The customer service was great and knowledgeable of the products and helped me choose the right gear for the Homer climate.

I loved walking through this little shop! The craftsmanship was exquisite! Sadly, most of it was WAY beyond my budget, but even if you don’t buy you should stop in. My husband bought me an early Christmas present there, a hairpin carved out of a moose antler! I can’t think of a better reminder of a once-in-a-lifetime trip. They’re worth the fight to find a parking spot.

Old Inlet Bookshop

Reviewed By wanderBhyn - Prince Rupert, Canada

We were on our way to the Alaska Islands and Visitor Center when we saw the sign by the road "Old Inlet Bookshop". Interest piqued, we kept this place in mind. And we did return here finally after the visitor center. The place reminds of good old small bookshops in a small town. The storefront would give away that the building is a bookshop - the spines of the books littered most of its clear windows. The storekeeper is quite friendly and told us we can explore the shop as we please. The entire bookshop is full of wall to wall books! Some titles were very old, some of the cherished ones are displayed behind the store counter. Impressive collections of very old books as well as new titles. If we were given a whole day to explore the stacks of books, we would! There are some interesting art pieces as well on the walls - mostly related to books and reading. Since we have only a day or so in Homer, we regretfully decided to keep our bookshop visit short and sweet. But not before we managed to find two book titles. Got one of us hooked on a mystery series starring the cat called Diesel Harris. The Mermaid Cafe on the back of the bookshop is closed. But the area of the bookshop is very well kept and has a vivid explosion of flowers! A quaint place for good and new books alike. If you need a book or two for a flight, better buy from here!
