I was in this shop several times in different years. In last year i also bought 2 carpets! The quality of the carpets is very high. Good color, wool, hand made, beautiful desing. The people in this shop is very friendly. I will recommend to visit this shop and met with Mehmet. It’s a historical shop, amazing things, very honestly owner. In old city. Main street. You will be pleasantly surprised!

Özden Köse is a delight to shop with. I had a lot of to-ing and fro-ing about what to do with my purchases. I’m at the beginning of a long trip and didn’t want to take extra luggage with me so I asked to have my towels sent to Canada. He got me the price for that but it was going to be too much. I settled on asking him to mail them to Istanbul. That was fine too. Then the next day I went back and said I’d decided to take them with me. That was fine too, and since I’d already paid for shipping I got an extra towel. Özden was extremely patient through all my mind-changing. +++ +++ +++ RE prices: I possibly paid “too much” in the sense that someone else would have known more about the market and brought the price down more, but I felt that the quality and selection were very high and that what I paid was extremely fair and reasonable with respect to my budget and expectations. And who knows — I was shopping in the off-season. Maybe I got an exceptionally good deal. Either way, I’m very happy. Özden is sensitive to the way foreigners are comfortable negotiating and didn’t use aggressive hard-sell. He explained that he could give me a better price if I bought more, and we worked with that. (Also there are no touts in front of the shop!)

We stumbled across this beautifully curated shop and couldn’t hardly decide on our favorite pieces! Everything has been thought through with an eye for design, quality and craft. We bought two pillows with fun tassels, a gorgeous throw blanket that was equally as beautiful on either side and a quality Turkish towel, again all with modern yet distinctly Turkish styles. Don’t miss this amazing little shop. The owners were really sweet and helpful at showing us things. We couldn’t say enough good about their work and the artisans they work with. Highly recommended!!!
