After a dozen predictably cheap souvenir shops in each town, finding this store was a treat. I liked the cork purses, which were unique and well made. The ceramics were equally good. Go, you'll like it! Staff is friendly, speak English, and are very helpful.

Tiles made and painted by hand
This is a late review, but it was a very nice stop in the area. The tile making & painting demonstration was interesting, and the people who work there are really friendly and knowledgeable. Recommended!

Grandma Berta's House is much more than a store. It's a house full of craft products and 100% portuguese, combined with a cafetaria servisse to remind the snacks served at home of our grandparents. Grandma Berta's House appears as a tribute to Grandma Berta that existed in our family. In her backyard it was usual to see painted clay pots of red with white polka dots, painted by her husband Eduardo (the "bald" Grandfather). The furniture that makes up our space come from another grandmother, Isabel. And the walls?! Ah... the walls are dressed up in family photographs tha tell real stories passed at the old times. Here you find a little bit of the best products made in our country. Crafts, soaps, ceramics, needlework, stationery, cans, biscuits and more... Behind the counter you'll find us... granddaughter Ana and Andreia great-granddaughter. We want you to feel at home, revisit memories, traditions and flavors of other times. Welcome to Casa da Avó Berta!

The House of Arrabidine is an artisanal liqueur and spirits independent cellar. In the building, the visitor will find not only the cellar, the visitors' center and the shop, with complimentary fine products from the region and others. This family's business have been around since 1950 - with a stop in the mid 80's, but only since 2013 has been established as Lima Fortuna in the three hundred years old building, with the purpose of producing the almost 400 years old liqueur Arrabidine®. The cork factory tour was an included stop on our Globus trip. I didn't know much about cork. The tour was well worth the time. Our very informative tour guide demonstrated harvesting the cork, processing it and showed the multitude of cork products that result. They have a gift shop offering all kinds of cork products to buy. Great stop for souvenirs.

Mestre Cacau is a local company founded in 2005 and specialized in the production of handmade chocolates using local products, like olive oil, arbutus berry, rosemary, olives or wine. In our shop you can also taste many other products like hot chocolate, a nice cup of coffee, crepes, toasts and much more.
