Stretched along the Atlantic Ocean, Ghana's most populous city boasts glittering beaches, monumental buildings, museums, libraries, galleries, traditional markets and lively nightlife. Accra's architecture reflects its colonial history, with 17th century castles standing alongside modern skyscrapers. A veritable melting pot of cultures, the city's central financial and shopping districts contrast sharply with the less affluent residential areas surrounding the urban core.

Happy and Mariam kindly accommodated four of us. Happy took the time to gives us an introduction to clay; where it's sourced, the importance of removing air pockets and the two types we would be using during the class. Happy skillfully demonstrated and clearly instructed us on how to use the pottery wheel and whilst each of us waited our turn to use it, Mariam oversaw the use of the moulding clay. Once the class was finished we got to explore their beautiful shop. I would highly recommend attending their class, it is reasonably priced and well taught; Happy and Mariam were very mild, patient and helpful. They are currently located off Gulf Street, opposite the chamber guard of miners.
