I came here with friends on their recommendation. The location is really nice -- set right next to the nearby fields and farms. It overlooks the Bodensee lake. Very relaxing and quiet. We sat on the outdoor porch and had excellent service and food. It has the feel of a local family restaurant that has been around for a while. I had a steak with cheese spätzle. i would highly recommend.

Value for money, tasty regional food and friendly, fast service. We were sitting on the terrace and enjoyed the view and the great and friendly service from Hamser the Egyptian waiter .(Hope I got his name is right) food was great as well! This restaurant is highly recommended!

We only had one night in Lindau and our hotel had recommended 3 or 4 restaurants in the town (for German cuisine) and as this one was only a couple hundreds away from where we were staying we choose to eat here. The restaurant had quite a few tables in its rear garden, so although we had not booked and the place was busy (and this was a Monday) we got a table no problem. I got the impression there were a few locals eating here as well as us tourists. We tried struggling with the German menu but in the end we asked for an English menu. The service was good despite it being busy and there were only one or two staff doing the waiting. I had the local fish which was nice as was the chicken that my wife had. So there were one or two variants to the normal German menu and I think that the good was the most arty we had had during our trip. With a couple of beers, soft drink and coffee the hill came to just over 50 euros, which has been the going rate for us. So this was a good pointer by our hotel, we would recommend it.

Looking for a place to relax after navigating our way around the German side of the Lake of Constance, it was by mere chance but our good fortune to find, hidden away on a side street, the Hotel and Restaurant âHaus am Seeâ in the town of Nonnenhorn, which is not too far from the city of Lindau. As it was one of those rare, sunny, warm Sundays, we were able to sit outside in the restaurantâs perfectly lovely garden which has a great view of the lake as well as the mountains on the Swiss side. Spying on the other guests, who were tucking into wonderful-looking cakes and ice cream creations, we succumbed to temptation and ordered a piece of the rhubarb cake/pie; two layers of pastry with a tart and creamy rhubarb filling. Since it was terrific, we decided to see if the cheesecake tasted as good as it looked. We werenât disappointed. And since all good things come in threes, we rounded out our caloric splurge with a slice of the apricot cake; tart fruit nestled in a vanilla cream. The service was friendly and quick despite the large number of guests who had the same idea at the same time as we did. All in all it was a perfectly relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon, admiring the boats on the lake as well as the pretty herbal garden on the grounds.Although we couldnât stay for dinner (and wouldn't have had space for it anyway after all that cake), the menu looked as inviting as the cakes. The Haus am See is a great find for an afternoon break.

Bavarian cuisine
I arrived quite late from Munich and the staff were VERY welcoming and despite the restaurant closing soon, I was given a menu to get a meal which was really good and very tasty thus setting me up for a sleep. A good wholesome breakfast really set me up for the day and for me it was the highlight of my European travels this time around.Excellent!!

We picked this restaurant from the trip Advisor reviews and wernt dissapointed. The food is good quality German fair. Not expensive. One thing surprised us at first is that we were sharing a table with another couple. Once we got over that, it was interesting to meet some locals (and this does appear to be a local's spot) and made for an interesting evening. We enjoyed the meal sufficiently that we went back the following evening as there was plenty of options to choose from the menu.

Four of us had an evening meal and it was a very enjoyable experience. Food and service was excellent as was the sunset. Happy to recommend. Wifi also available for a small fee. We stayed at a wonderful apartment called Fischerhausle-Ferienwohnung within walking distance and very close to the lake. Great views from the large deck and owner Ruthild Schmid very helpful. The self contained units are very clean and comfortable. Price was good too at E128 per night.

The service is very friendly, attentive, but still unintrusive. The food is delicious, regional cuisine at its bests, the menu has some signature dishes, but there is also always something new to discover. The atmosphere is relaxed, but correct.

Am Bodensee
We have been travelling around Germany for over a week now and this is by far the best place that we have eaten. It's a really lovely , informal and relaxed family restaurant. From the very start the owner welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel completely at home. The food was absolutely first class: fresh fish, fresh produce and great wine, not to over reinforce the really warm welcome we received. I cannot recommend this to you highly enough. This is a must-go for fish lovers!
