The address is listed as Eltville, which is technically correct, but it is important to know that this restaurant is actually in Martinsthal. It is popular and you will probably have to reserve a table beforehand - we did.There is a good selection of local wines and an equally good selection of dishes, all at quite reasonable prices. We were in a party of five and the total bill for the evening came to some 115 euros. We all enjoyed what we had - lamb, pork tenderloin, minced meat 'casserole', etc. and the service was both friendly and prompt. We would happily return.

Excellent authentic German (Deutsch) food in a fantastic space. It must have been a very rich house a long time ago. Chandeliers, art work and other ambience really adds to the eating experience. Our five dishes of food were fantastic and service was prompt and personable. In fact, one of the owners visits the tables to answer questions in Deutsch or English. We will be back! Our friends recommended the place and expectations were high, but they delivered.

Wir haben das Restaurant durch den Schlemmerblock 2018 entdeckt, waren inzwischen 5-6 mal dort und wir kommen wieder!Die Lage mitten im Wald, in einem ruhigen Tal fernab von jedem Lärm und Zeichen der Zivilisation ist einfach nur herrlich! Im Sommer kann man wunderschön draussen sitzen und die Natur genieÃen - ganz ohne Stress und Hektik. Im inneren erwartet den Gast ein kleiner aber sehr gemütlicher Bereich - ein altes herrlich erhaltenes Fachwerkhaus. Die Gastgeber sind extrem freundlich und man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen.Das Essen wird liebevoll und immer frisch zubereitet. Das meiste ist Hausmannskost, aber vom Feinsten. Das Schnitzel Chefin ist ein Traum! Wir sind groÃe Fans von der Matzenmühle und werden mit Sicherheit noch oft dort hin fahren!

After a short stay in hospital, and a drastic change in diet, we have since started eating healthier. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend, and I must say that it is amazing. The food was fabulous. The service amazing and the proprietor who is an actor/musician was absolutely wonderful. She sang in German and English for us with a beautiful voice. And we got to see their amazing rooms. I can't wait to go again. Even not being a vegetarian, I loved the food. I highly recommend that if you need a room or just a great meal, this is the place to go.

This is our family's favorite German restaurant. We take all our visitors here. Excellent menu with seasonal specials. You can't go and not get the Gambas and Wine Soup! Recommend reservations. Outdoor seating for summer too

Super nice terrace outside with outstanding friendly service from the typically dressed waitresses. Given it was Easter, menu suggestions were fish, which was greatly cooked. Kids menu is available. Unfortunately I was driving so could not taste the wine but my wife said it was delicious.

We've visited this establishment a few times now and enjoy the occasion - be it summer or winter. Well cooked and prepared traditional food on offer (generous portions), along with attentive and friendly staff - all at reasonable prices too. We'll be back.
