We had two breakfasts and one dinner here as part of a 2-day stay and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Fresh, filling, and tasty food, with a selection of beer, wine, and interesting home-made brandies. Breakfast was cold meats, cheeses, cereal, breads, jams, and fresh fruit, with the option to have fresh-cooked eggs. A healthy, hearty start to a day of touring.

Good food, frienly service and wonderful environment. One of the most beautiful sights of the Black Forest.

I cannot remember how long I haven´t seen a place like this ! A typical - very remote - place up above every major settlement and difficult to find for non-locals. We enjoyed a true local experience with a large, wooden guest room and a small selection of home classics. Prepared with probably tons of butter I had a Schweineschnitzel as my grandma prepared it with lots of Spätzle and a side salad large and tasty. It was so delicious that I could even eat the huge portion of 2 serious pieces of meat. Really good and mouthwatering while writing about it again. Paired of course with a local beer or wine you´ll find yourself pushed back for probably 40 years :-) The service was friendly, fast and no reason for complaints. Prices very fair for that amount of good food.

Holiday in the Black Forest Hello and welcome! The inn Heiligenbrunnen is nestled in the beautiful and lovely landscape of the southern Black Forest at 1,025 meters above sea level between Hinterzarten, Breitnau and Titisee-Neustadt. Far away from the noi
This restaurant is off the main roads, on a green hill, which makes its surrounding area very relaxing and beautiful in spring time.Heiligenbrunnen mean "Holy fountain" and there is one in the restaurants open yard. The restaurant itself is inside what used to be a church, with some of the relics still inside. We came here especially after we've seen the reviews here - and I can say the food is good, but not great, for example, I had a Goulash soup that was very very salty, the Schnitzel was OK. The desserts were much better. If you're afraid of dogs or cats take heed because the house roam free in the restaurant, but my children liked that a lot.Good visit if you have the time, but not a culinary must.

In a four night stay in St Peter we went to the restaurant at Burg(er)stuble twice, so that tells most of the story. This restaurant was busy midweek in February with deep snow lying - reinforcing my story. It delivers what you should expect: German food, welcoming environment, clean and tidy facilities, good attentive service, middle price-range.On the first visit, after talking to the staff, I chose a local dish not a million miles away from a creamy pork strogonoffe. Delicious. On the next visit, full of confidence, I chose a local dish just by reading about it: bulky, heavy, dull, unimaginitive (to me). Clearly other people do want this, the fault was mine, I should have asked about it. Lesson: the staff are there to help, just ask.Would I go a third time: Yes.Burg(er)stuble is a guesthouse (it has rooms) not just a restuarant. I bracket the 'er' in its name to avoid any suggestion that it is about burgers (as in McDonalds)!

Hexenlochmuhle (literally translated as Witch's hole mill) is basically that. it was originally a very old watermill now turned into a little souvenir shop with a restaurant to eat at . it is definitely built at what feels like the bottom of a hole (it seems to be a long and endless drive down, down and ever downwards to get there). Not sure where the Witch part of it came from. I have been there before from time to time over the years. Pleasant surrounding view to eat at and an interesting downward spiral of a road journey to get there. The food is more kind of a cake and coffee thing than a full blown meal but the cake is great. A pleasant place to break for a morning brunch or an afternoon tea.

I'm from Belgium (and living in Germany) and I have no idea why we ended up here, maybe it was homesickness. You can find a lot of Belgian beers and Belgian dishes on the menu. I took the cordon bleu and my wife took the stewed chicken. The ingredients were of good quality and it was well-prepared. The prices were unfortunately also Belgian style and thus higher then I'm used to here in Germany. The place also seemed to exhibit a "good ol' boys club" mentality, many Belgian guests seem to know each other and discussions were held (loudly) over multiple tables. Insider tip: you can also stop here if you like good Belgian pralines.

Typical rustic German restaurant found en route to Baden.Excellent value. Good choice of dishes. The local "blue" salmon- trout was perfectly cooked. The venue is very charming for an informal evening dinner stop and the non-fussy staff made the whole experience very pleasant. There is also a Michelin restaurant next door attached to the same guesthouse.I would definitely go here again although you are spoilt for choice for good restaurants in this area it seems!

Stopped here for a late lunch on a cold drizzly day heading into the Black Forest. Absolutely dreamy!! The staff was so friendly and excellent service!! The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. No matter what request we asked regarding our food substitutions and additions they were more than happy to make. We were even given directions into the town to find the best Black Forest cake! I would love to return and stay here in the guest house, but will keep the memories of the delicious meal with me always. Thank you for a great afternoon.

We had an evening meal here; two adults and a 4 year old. The food, service and setting were excellent. I had hare, which was perfectly cooked and wonderfully tender. My wife had cream of asparagus soup as a starter, also deliciously made and seasoned. It was no more expensive than anywhere else. Would HIGHLY recommend.
