Eating here feels like being at home. The interior looks very cozy germanic and the personnel is very friendly. Dishes are traditional german, with a good selection of cheeses as starter and various schnitzels as well as other servings and side-dishes. Nice wines too.

This is a local spot, not a faked tourist one... Local people, traditional local food which fits for a local good wine! You sit among the other guests, talking about everything... We really liked it!

This is a nice weingut that serves a bit of food -- at least during the Tage der offenen Winzerhofe in September. I had a great glass of rose and a nice plate of wurst mit kartoffelsalat. The folks there were very nice and spoke English -- which is always good, given my very limited German. Nice garten for sitting outside with your wine, and there is a playground children. I had a nice seat underneath a grape arbor; I wish I was there now.

Wir kommen schon seit ein paar Jahren hierher. Das Rinderhacksteak ist sehr zu empfehlen, aber auch alles andere schmeckt sehr lecker.Dazu ein gutes Gläschen Riesling...Was will man mehr.

The restaurant "Am Heylschen Garten" (60 seats) with adjoining garden terrace (80 seats) spoils you with typical regional cuisine, which goes well with the fabulous wines of the region. And for those who like it a bit more international, there is always a
Just discussing. No words for it. It must have been the worst experience in years. After the dinner, we had a drink in the bar. Everybody was smoking here, terrible. This a a place you can forget about if you're looking for quality.

Eating outdoors is geat ! Admiring Rhin river, make you feel timeless, above that I'll say that the waitresses are even better than the food. I felt comfortable and received the finest service, all the staff diligent, assertive and kind, not because they were looking for tips, but to provide a real serice. The food was good though, and prices are according the hotel category. Definitely you sholud have a glass of wine at sunset!

The setting is perfect. Parking is challenging. The welcome is warm. The ambiance is more tasteful than just traditional. We reserved a room upstairs for 8 people and enjoyed delicious potato and truffle soup (with and without blood-sausage), the best side-salad that we've had for a long, long time (a delicate combination of herbs, leaves and flowers), smoked salmon on homemade potato 'puffer' (it said roesti in the menu but it wasn't). For mains we had incredibly tender lamb shanks, pan-fried pike-perch on a bed on creamy sauerkraut (it worked well even without the ubiquitous blood-sausage - why do German restaurants consistently serve meat with fish?!?) and a well-received chicken breast with chilli-carrots, peanut sauce and rosemary polenta. We struggled to find room even for shared desserts - an acceptable creme brulee and a perfectly-executed chocolate moelleux were however polished off. The wine list is not surprizingly very German with some wonderful surprizes like the excellent riesling sekt. We've been here a few times over the years. Highly recommended!
