Things to do in Minden
A wide choice of the usual designer clothing, nice food on the top floor. A bit on the pricey side and staff not always keen to help as it seems there little chats take priority. With a little patience the odd bargain can be found.
Was OK, but if this the best Greek restaurant in Minden...well, go to an Italian. Friendly staff, good service.

We were there for the brunch-type breakfast which is served from 10 onwards on a Sunday. It was a mixed blessing that the weather was so wonderful because too many people came and there were not enough service staff. If you are not in a hurry fine, because the setting is super. The restaurant is only open on a Sunday from November until February and closed in March. Mondays from 12 the rest of the year if the weather is OK. If I go back it'll be a weekday from 11 onwards, which is when the place is open between Tuesday and Saturday..
The restaurant offers some great food in a traditional surrounding, service is good, food has been excellent.

Casual dining atmosphere. Large menu and VERY LARGE portions. Really, really good sauerkraut so don't miss out on that trying to finish your main entrée. Schweinshaxe on the menu but sold out early. Casual but friendly service. Ask for a serving of the digestive with the jackalope on the label to end your meal.

We had been there some 10 years ago and remembered the fried fish and home made potato salad as very tasty. This time it was not so good anymore, the potato salad came out to the fridge, which made it taste less flavorful but the fish was freshly cooked and tasted good. Before we started to order, I asked for a glass of tap water, because it was very hot and we had walked quite a bit, I was told I could only have bottled water, which I did not want, because I wanted a beer with my fish, the young waiter could not be bothered with bringing me a glass of tab water. I found that rude.

A rustic German themed restaurant close to the town centre, with a very attractive olde-worlde interior. The menu (also available in English if needed) is extensive and interesting. As you might expect, it has lots of meat and potato based dishes although there are plenty of things on the menu that are suitable for veggies, so don't be put off. And the bratkartoffeln are superb! But a warning for those of a delicate constitution, the portions are very generous!
