The food is great, as is the service. Very professional. If you don't reserve a table, you'll likely not get one.We had the traditional Goose dish, but I've eaten here in the summer and have always had excellent food quality.Somewhat pricey, however.

After a long time, I returned to Alt Maikammer, which was always well known for its very good traditional Pfalzer food and excellent service. To our surprise, we discovered that the establishment was acquired by a new owners family. The previous owner had retired. However, the food was still excellent as always and the service was very friendly and informal. So, Alt Maikammmer, still going strong!

Maikammer should be more famous for its restaurants. One of the tops is certainly the Dorfchronic. Excellent local food, originally prepared and served. With the best of the local wines!

We went with 2 friends for lunch. It is a hotel/restaurant in the forest, peacefully located. We had a beautiful table. We had white asparagus, game (Rehrücken), cooked veal (Tafelspitz)... and everything was perfect, delicious! We really loved it! The chef knows what he/she is doing! The service was very attentive. And the prices were very reasonable. We will go back - for sure - it was wonderful.

Went to St. Martiner Weinhausel about a week ago with my family and some family friends, and we left very impressed. Lunch was so enjoyable we came the next day for lunch again. Iâve summarised both meals into one review. From the menu, u can tell the chef has had experience from other countries. We're indeed surprised when we saw satay and briyani rice listed. Besides these exotic dishes from Asia, there were also other entries like Ravioli, French thin-crust pizza etc.The extensive menu naturally piqued our curiosity to test these dishes from back home, hence we decided to order many dishes to share. Our starters came and we're amazed by the Cream of Peas Soup, Chicken Satay, Ratatouille Ravioli and Boiled Beef Fillet Jelly. I was naturally excited about the Chicken Satay, keen to learn how Satay made in a small German wine village matches up against the good old street food of Malaysia and Singapore. The meat was extremely tender and moist, dipped in sauce, exuded a taste of back home for me.Iâve to give special mention to the Beef Jelly, it was a very, very good combination of thin tender beef slices fused with firm jelly, leaving a refreshing taste in your mouth. As a starter, it surely whet our appetite! The Ravioli was also something (Iâm usually more of a fan of non-stuffed pasta), but the texture and taste of the Ravioli left me wondering why I havenât been eating more Ravioli. When in Sankt Martin, one has to try the wine. And why wait till the main course when u can pair aperitifs to your starters! Weâd both the Gewürtraminer Tonic & Hugo. The Tonic was light and refreshing, as my wife put it, like a âbreath of fresh airâ (except in your mouth!), perfect for the beautiful summer day. Typically enough, my wife couldnât resist and quickly gulped down most of itâ¦The Hugo was slightly stronger though, but it was very good as well.As for main courses, u have to try the Pork Cheeks, Briyani, Rack of Lamb and Pork Cheeks. Like the Satay, I was impressed with the Briyani too. The coloured fragrant rice with light spices was neither too wet nor dry, and pair with the rest of the dish, definitely can make missing home food a non-issue! The Lamb was really delicious. Tender and superbly savoury, weâre left fighting who to take the last piece. The Pork Cheeks, from the Daily Specialsâ menu, was extremely soft and flavourful.Other items worth mentioning are the home-made fries. It wasnât just my friendâs 2-year old who couldnât resist it, but none of us, including my friendâs parents could resist them!Iâve understood that the chef has plied his trade in the kitchens of Germany, Switzerland, Singapore and Africa, and itâs absolutely remarkable to have manged to infuse his menu and dishes with tastes from different corners of the world with such great effect. Service was prompt and attentive and decor and comfort was great. If uâre ever in Sankt Martin, be it for some good German wine or just passing through town, be sure to make a stop at this restaurant.

This place has it all. In addition to the great food, it is also a mini hotel right in the heart of the Rhineland Palatinate wine region. You can literally walk out the door and into the vineyards. Features an extensive menu of traditional Palatinate foods such as leberknoedel, saumagen, etc. Also features flammkucken and is just excellent. Wonderful wine selection. Newly built but beautifully furnished and very cozy with a wood burning ceramic stove (kachelofen).

The restaurant was a random choice on a recent visit but we were ecstatic with not only the food but the pleasant eversmiling waitress. Complimentary starters was the cappuccino soup.. delicious. We also had the asparagus soup which was equally flavorful. Ox-cheek was the special of the day and the accompanying sauce was great. The piece de resistance were the desserts - the rhubarb creme brulee is worthy of special mention. The restaurant would have been missed because of its understated exterior, but we were glad to have experienced such wonderful food.

Yes, very impressed with this village restaurant. Not a huge choice ( which can be a bonus) and home cooked meats a speciality. The lady owner speaks English and the other staff are attentive and friendly. The steak ( Argentinian rump) was cooked to perfection, and was brought to the table by the chef who also came back to check all was ok.Yes, we will return here.

This restaurant is located just outside Maikammer. It is rather modern and well appointed and there is ample space both outside and inside the building. As we were recommended the place our reservation was no problem, but one should note that the restaurant only operates from Thursdays to Sundays. Whilst they offer a buffet dinner on Sundays, they also offer a- somewhat limited- A la Carte Menu, but to be honest, both options are well appointed and the meal was quite excellent for all of us. The service was friendly though it did take a bit of time. Still, that does not really matter as we really liked the general ambience as well as their in house produced wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back one day and I encourage anyone reading this to do the same.
