As a local, this is one of my favourite places for a pleasant lunch or dinner. Really good local food, decent portions. Also take-away - bring your own dishes, this will make things easier. Easy parking nearby.

This restaurant is just by the top of the lift so is very convenient when ski touring. It was very comfortable, quite busy, but easy to get tables. The service was very quick and the drinks were good.Might come back for lunch as the menu looked good.

Half way down the slope you'll find the Maisalm. Seated in the sun in a lounge set with an Apfelstrüdel with ice...difficult to get up and go again. I've heard good stories about their pizza's as well but we'll have to try that another time...friendly service as well..not to be forgotten. Hello from Saalbach!Thank you so much for your good feedback. We are really happy to hear that you enjoyed your skiing break in our restaurant and we are looking forward to welcome you in future, that you can enjoy our pizza :).Yours family Breitfuà & Team

We stayed with friends on a ski trip to Maishofen, the Gasthof - Restaurant Zur Post was excellent: friendly staff, good food & wine and ambience. We had an great evening and would certainly go back when in the area.

We went here three years ago and loved the food so when we came back this year, it was our second lace to have dinner- we were so sad to wait - they are closed on Tuesday ( our first night) so we had to eat somewhere else on the first night- but it gave us good comparison- this place IMO is first rate. It is in the village so you can walk to it Many rated on TA. are not in the village but in an neighboring village so I think this is good to know. The wiener Schnitzel ( it is pork not veal - it is that way in Austria) is fresh prepared - you can hear them pound the filet in the kitchen). We sat in the protected outside which is charming. Last time DH had Jagerschnitzel and ask to have spaetzle instead of potatoes which was no problem. When I could not eat all of my dinner - they wrapped it up for me to take to the condo. They speak English and are very kind and the service is excellent. This is a family business and the restaurant is connected to the house. I love that. That is why they have longer hours. The people at the next table had pizza ( why in Austria I dont know but hey ) it was generous in size and smelled delicious. The prices are quite reasonable and yup the food was better than our first night hence why we keep coming back and they remember us- probably because we dine early but always happy to see us. BTW - there is photo that shows up - that is the deer stew which looked amazing - i just love schnitzel so have not tried yet.
We have been visiting Schorhoff for many years and it only goes backwards. Staff is unfriendly and ignores you most of the time. They even don't look at you when taking your order. Very rude ! A far cry from when the father of the current owner was still around. he always came to your table to greet you and have a chat. The current owner just walks past, ignores you and has a beer at the bar. It is not that he doesn't have time. The prices have gone up quite dramatically as well and the portions can be very small. Once I complained about the very small piece of meat that was on my plate and the waiter (a friendly one) agreed with me and told that he was sometimes embarrassed with what he received from the kitchen to bring to guests. We used to eat here a lot but nowadays go somewhere else.

The restaurant has pretty interior and excellent, fast service, but the food was something like average or bellow average depending on the dish, plain and not flavourful at all. They have to improve the menu and upscale every dish, in texture, flavour and presentation. It is on the road so you can drive there by car from Leogang or Saalfelden after skiing.

After passing this place a few times trying to get to a place which was on our local list, this was what was available for a Saturday night. The place, despite a little old looking from the outside packs a great menu. The inside is much nicer than the exterior reveals although we dined alfresco in the garden. The food was excellent (basic) and some items required a day in advance order (chateaubriand). The steaks and schnitzels were excellent while the service was nice. Overall, this is a good find (especially for the quality of the steak). Only now wish I had another day for the preorder menu. Cost ranges between 14-27 for adults and 7-10 for children.

The original hut "Asitzhutte" was built in 1930, when the region at the Asitz was used for skitouring. After the construction of the first cable car in the 1970's, the hut became a ski restaurant. In the year 2010, the Altenberger family purchased the hut
All ski-mountain huts in Austria and Germany seem to be similar - same sort of menu full of high-calorie ski-fuel, good friendly, quick & efficient service, immaculately clean including the toilets. Really - they're all fantastic. This one is a little bit special even then - a little bigger, better food, and beautiful slightly quirky fit-out (down to the gents toilets looking out on the ski slope - I hope it's one-way glass!).It was a bit more expensive than I expected though.
