My husband and I weren't super hungry when we came across this restaurant, but we decided to share a meal and have a beer and wine. We shared the kohlrabi and potato dish and oh my! I've never had cooked cooked kohlrabi, but it was fantastic. I was told from another couple (locals I believe) that the food was all sourced locally. The portions from other guests looked huge, so we too the cue and shared a meal. It was more than enough. There is seating indoors and outdoors. The outdoor view is on the Rhine and lovely.

We were there in June and this one of the few restaurants where you could sit outside and still not feel overcrowded in this part of Kamp Bornhofen. The street is full of hotels but the restaurants of these hotels do not seem so inviting as this Wirtshaus. We had a nice cool beer after a long stroll, but we did notice the attractive menu. It was too early for dinner, but it might be a good idea to come back for a meal.

New German and international cuisine in an historical ambiente. Great choice of wine, draught beers. Lunch stop for groups on request.
We had dinner; wiener schnitzel veal for me and instead of fries I had a beautiful large salad. My husband had the special tender beef cheaks with rosemary potatoes. He could not believe how tender the beef was, using only his fork! Wonderful service, wine, beer and meal. Highly recommend!

Before heading back to the states we decided to go to this hidden gem weâve heard so much about from relatives. Long story short - food was spectacular, everything from the salad to the veal ragu to the off-menu schnitzel the charismatic owner prepared for us. Ambience was terrific, old vintage wood in a timeless mill, friendly restaurant patrons, cozy setting, and a very accommodating wait staff. Highly recommend to anyone traveling near the Boppard/Koblenz area. If the owner is reading this....please open a restaurant in Boston!

We struggled a few times to get a seat at this popular restaurant, but finally slotted in on Tuesday night, though we shared a table German style with a Scottish couple. We both had the pumpkin soup, and then she had Spare ribs and I had Cordon Blue. Good and service excellent.Wir können uns gut an sie erinnern - vielen Dank für Ihren Besuch!! Bitte kommen Sie bald erneut zu uns!

The area around Baunholler Muhle is a very nice for long walks through the forests. Several ways ending / crossing at this place. Walk in and enjoy a nice lunch, coffee or dinner. I visited this place already many times and we spent always good times with nice memories.

Ended our morning hike here then had lunch. Many food choices. We had salads, knock wursts and desert. Ate on patio overlooking creek/stream. Food was nice presentation and tasted good. Service was helpful. Menu in German but server picked up that some of us spoke only English so she explained menu and spoke with us in English. This is a favorite spot for our family and we eat here every time visit the area.

Visited this restaurant based on: Trip Adviser reviews; recommendation from locals, and; closeness to hotel (Hotel Munster). A hidden gem for affordable fine German dining. We did not have a reservation, this was ok midweek mid-January, but restaurant is not very large so would recommend booking. English speakers most welcome with English menus and fluent staff. Not a massive selection of food but sufficient for good choice (meats, fish, vegetarian, etc). All dishes were extremely well presented and very tasty. Shrimp starter and beef roulade were very good. We didnât try wines (a long day on road required beers) but list was good with some excellent choices. Not particularly cheap but exceptional value for the quality. Highly recommended.

Sat down here at 8pm on a Saturday evening. It was quite busy. It was difficult to get attention, you had to chase a waitress rather than them coming to you.Ordered drinks, starter and main course. Drinks came fairly quickly. Starter arrived at 8.30pm. Then we sat until 9.30pm with no food. We were sat next to a group of 4. The 1st diner had finished his meal before the 4th diner had got their food. At 9.30 I asked where the food was and I was told 'We only have a small kitchen'. I don't class myself as a business genius but the obvious answer is have less tables. Waitresses seem to be coming out with just one plate at a time.At 9.40 after waiting 1 hour 10 minutes for my meal, I paid for my drinks and left.Wild horses wouldn't drag me back there.
