Find out what German restaurants to try in Ellmau. Ever seen a movie or TV show that takes place in Austria? Then you’ve probably seen Ellmau. Charming villages, idyllic scenery and an 18th-century parish church make Ellmau a popular filming location for directors who want a setting that’s quintessentially Austrian. For regular folks, Ellmau’s draw is its proximity to the Wilder Kaiser mountains, where the hiking trails and ski slopes are equally spectacular.

I've come here for almost 25 years anx the food is getting worse and worse. Today I told them that this is my last visit if the dont fire the chef. To bad of such a good astablishment. IF the food where good, the prices is too high.

Big terrace at foot of slope on the way down to Ellmau Snow was heavy and getting slushy by mid afternoon but I managed not to wipe out, much to the disappointment of the terrace audience. You go inside to order food; but if you just want to get drinks, there is a little window into the bar at the end of the terrace. An old man, or possibly a gnome, dwells therein and serves the booze. Large beer 3.30Mineral water 2.00We resisted the temptation to order coffee and cakes even though the next table was full of Germans doing exactly that. A very pleasant place - surprising to see it offering self-service as it feels more like a waiter service joint.
Good food, huge portions, large selections. There is a bar for drinks. Very nice view and linger while kids play in the adventure play area.

having only experienced french apres ski (rubbish) this place opened my eyes. it is mental from 3pm every day until about 9pm. 3.50 euros for a pint of weissbeer or try the excellent gluewein or jagertee. get there early if you want a seat unless you want ot just jump about to the mad apres tunes

This restaurant is located in the middle of red ski pista, so it's not as overcrowded as other at the Wilder Kaiser ski srea. Service is remarkably good and the food is tasty, while the portions are bigger than usual. Don't miss it!

While staying in Ellmau we had lunch twice in Lobewein 2nd time because we enjoyed it do much the first time! The service is good and as usual in Austria and other European countries the bill follows last, unlike the UK where money has to be paid before you have eaten...The menu was very good with English written menus available. The prices are the norm for Austria but not too expensive. We paid â¬8.50 or thereabouts for 1/2 chicken with chips and very huge portions.I would recommend this restaurant for eating and drinking in Ellmau.

We decided to celebrate in this restaurant a birthday and we're happy of our choice. Their menu is absolutely delicious and harmonic. Service were really friendly a we enjoyed our dinner. They cooked for us also some sweet surprise for a birthday occasion. It's very expensive restaurant you should calculate with at least â¬100 p/P with some wine but you'll be satisfied with everything. I can recommand this restaurant for some festive occasion!

We stopped off for lunch before heading for Kitzbuehel. We had a lovely table by the window with the sun streaming in. The Schnitzel, Tyrollean platter, sausages etc. were all very good and we did not have room for dessert. The waiting staff were friendly and relaxed.

I've been here before. I gave it five stars before. I'll be coming here again. It's probably my favourite mountain restaurant in an area that has lots of nice mountain huts. Espresso and Hagebuttentee. Rosehip to you. Not the best espresso, but this is Austria, not Italy. Service was good. We came back a few hours later for lunch. Ribs, BBQ sauce, potato salad. I could have had a baked potato or chips. My partner had Wienerschitzel with chips, so I stole some of hers. Plate piled high, and all good
