Our hosts at our bed and breakfast told us about an Alpen concert at Schlossbergalm Zell at 6:00 P.M. We were intrigued, especially that two nearby castles could be visited as they had been abandoned. It was an outstanding evening. First thanks to visiting these two castles: The Castle of Eisenberg and the castle of Hohenfreyberg. Secondly the Alpen Concert was amazing. They played outside and the view behind them was out of the ordinary. Numerous mountains with a prairie setting. Wow!The waitress was super nice and the food was delicious. I enjoyed drinking their fruit juices. They were out of this world! There wasn't much parking, but we were among the lucky ones to have one. All other cars that were a bit late, had to park down the road. Quite a hike though. We certainly will return to the Schlossbergalm Zell when we come back to Bavaria.

This restaurant definitely gives that authentic and local experience. The food was fine, not amazing or memorable, but certainly not a disappointment. The reasons why I give this restaurant an average rating is that the menu selection was a bit limited and we waited close to an hour to get our food.

Traditional Bavarian Restaurant under NEW MANAGEMENT since first May 2015. Cozy Beergarden with a wonderful view to the Alps! Delicious regional food with a twist and original german beer and spirits. Come check it out! You will be very much welcome!
We've been back and thought is will be as good as it was before. Something changed. It is the quality and taste of the food. I had to return one meal completely because it was not fit for consumption. The lovely waitress responded very well and offered a different dish straight away, but that was not very good ether. The improvement sould be very shortly in the kitchen, please..There is a children play area direct at the premises.

We tried 3 restaurants in the area during our 3 day stay at Pfeffermühle is the best - good quality food, friendly people(they speak basic English so there is no communication problem), very clean, fair price. Many local dine there too.

This is an eating place just below the summit of Falkenstein. It is well worth the walk up (a bit of a scramble the last 200 yards, so wear stout shoes). Admire the view, then back to the restaurant for something to eat and a fortifying glass of Prinz Leupolds Donker Beer. If you can get a table on the terrace - heaven! Then to admire the architects designs for the projected castle. King Ludwig II was a monarch who, 1) never involved his subjects in a war, 2) left them richer when he died than when he came to the throne, and, 3) whose hobby was building fairytale castles on mountain tops. Yet they called him "Mad King Ludwig". There is no justice in the world!

A brewpub (microbrewery in the house) with not only excellent brews but also excellent down-to-earth Bavarian staples from the "buffet" (self-service) like pork knuckles, pork roast or, also, typical "Brotzeiten". Old-fashioned beerhall atmosphere and patio area outside. Always packed, better make a reservation or come early (opening 3:30 pm)

Good food for very reasonable prices. One of the fastest services I have ever experienced, which was perfect for us as we were tired and wanted a quick diner

It's an affordable typical Bavarian restaurant. Bavarian food is not something that everyone likes, but overall a positive experience.
