Expat living in Germany who has fallen "in love" with the namesake bratwurst of Thuringia. It is like the Vidalia onion in the USA ... protected and in other parts of Germany not always available. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor eating area that was crowded one late afternoon. Service was prompt and quite efficient. My meal came with "smashed" potatoes, a wonderfully seasoned sauerkraut and a side salad.

An old pub that didn't look too much from outside. Inside was quaint with lots of dark wood and plenty of people. Bar staff spoke good English and we ordered pork loin with fries, salad and sauce and pork schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Portions were large and tasty.

We walked around Eisenach on a Sunday evening trying to find a nice place to eat ( not easy on a Sunday !) and we're just about to give up when we stumbled upon this restaurant. It's not a steakhouse as such but has a nice menu selection. It's warm and welcoming and quite traditionalWish we had found it earlier They also serve a really nice alcohol free wheat beer called Franziskaner Food was heart and tasty. Highly recommend

At the "Landgrafenstube" that has repeatedly been decorated for its excellence we will you regaled with a richly flavoured cuisine that impresses with its originality and is inspired by the recipes of the rural wine-growing districts. But the Landgrafenst
Just underneath the Wartburg castle, the restaurant offers a rather limited selection of dishes, but both the Sauerbraten ("sour roast beef", a German beef specialty) and the catfish (Wels in German) were excellent. They also have a range of wines, including wines from the East German Saale-Unstrut region.

schönes Aussichtsrestaurant oberhalb der Stadt im Berghotel am Burschenschaftsdenkmal
We had lunch here. After walking through an outdated entrance area and bar you arrive at a very nicely decorated restaurant with a wonderful view on the Warburg. Service was nice but very slow. Food was okay. Good soups but not even lukewarm when they arrived at the table. Decent kids food. My beef roulade was okay, I have had better ones. The fish was very well done but the risotto was very dry. It should be creamy and delicious. Decent pricing.

We stayed in the hotel for the Christmas weekend and eat here on Christmas night. We ordered one full main dish and 4 tapas dishes. Everything was great. Portions were fine and presented nicely. The tapas were tasty and 4-5 are decent for 2 for dinner. Service is good. They have a rather good wine list! Plenty to choose from. The bar area is beautiful and the restaurant was set up very nice. The bartenders were great when we went in for just drinks the next day aftre walking around town. Definitely would eat here again. Very nice surprise!

We visited this restaurant because it was recommended here on Trip Advisor. We weren't disappointed! We hadn't booked, and it seems this would be advisable in the main season. In addition, the set menus have to be ordered in advance. The menus are presented in the form of scrolls, and being older, we found them difficult to read in the candlelight (there are no electric lights in the restaurant), but having ordered we could relax, sit back and enjoy the meal. The drinks are served in goblets with a pointed base, which sit in holes in the table, which is unusual to say the least. The house wine is served in sizes of one third, one half, or a litre! All the meals come with an "amuse bouche" - a huge chunk of heavy bread, with dripping (Grammelschmalz) and a quark and wild garlic dip. Be careful not to fill up on this before the main course!I had lamb steaks with wheat, served in a delicious sauce. The lamb was beautifully cooked and tender. For dessert, deep fried battered apple rings served with vanilla and cinnamon sauce, which were perfectly cooked. The portion sizes for both were perfect. We were slightly surprised that such a place should be so reasonably priced.Although English, we do speak German as we are resident in Austria, but we found the waiter's local accent impenetrable. There were no sign of English menus, but don't let that stop a visit here.

We were in town to look at the castle and needed a bite to eat. The inside is quirky. The staff was nice and polite. We thought that it was the tomato house and were a bit disappointed to find only potatoes :) Joking aside, all of the dishes were good and we finished all the food. My step-father even had a dish that was served in a miniature wheel-barrow with a sparkler lit on top. That was pretty cool.
